Super User *Hootie Posted May 20, 2013 Super User Posted May 20, 2013 Abrazx or Invisx on a baitcaster. What is your opinions on these lines. Hootie Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted May 20, 2013 Super User Posted May 20, 2013 Both work well. Abrazx for jigs and rigs in heavy cover, invizx for all around use. I use Abrazx a lot in 20lb for flipping, the primary drawback being that I change it frequently during the season. Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted May 20, 2013 Super User Posted May 20, 2013 All my baitcasters have Abrazx, Invizx on spinning. Quote
MrSwimJig Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 I use both and have no problems with either one. I use InvizX for light cover and AbrazX for moderate cover. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted May 20, 2013 Super User Posted May 20, 2013 I have been using InvizX for a couple years, and this year I am experimenting with the AbrazX. Have one jig rod with both, same everything. Jeff Quote
SwampLife Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 I been wondering the samething but im going with abrazx for all bottom balts:: The way i look at is Invizx is good for clear water, right? I don't really fish clear water.. So why wouldn't I get the line with better abrasion resistance? It's still floro so it is still less visible than other line.. Do they they cast the same on a baitcaster? Correct me if I'm wrong please! I have been wondering the same thing.. But I making another order this week and abrazX was on the list! Quote
gripnrip Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 I have invisx on 2 cranking setups and on one flipping stick. It's my first time with the invisx and I'm impressed so far. 12, 15, and 20 pound test. Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted May 20, 2013 Super User Posted May 20, 2013 Flouro is for clear water but no issue in dirty water just does not take advantage of its low visibility properties. My thoughts are Abrazx works great on baitcast gear, so why not take the abrasion resistance. Ever if I am fishing more open water you still find stumps, trees, bushes, etc sometimes so why switch to Inviszx if you don't need to. Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted May 20, 2013 Super User Posted May 20, 2013 I almost exclusively fished both last year on 80% of my setups. Really like both lines but to me I like invisix better. Sure there is some stretch but also countered some of that with xf rods. Both are quite good for the price! Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted May 21, 2013 Author Super User Posted May 21, 2013 Okay, I'm working Friday at BPS, so I guess I'll pick up a spool of Abrazx. Gotta give it a try. Thanks for all the responses. Hootie Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted May 21, 2013 Super User Posted May 21, 2013 I have 3 baitcasters and 2 spinning rods which I use for tournaments (co-angler) 7'MH - Jigs, Frogs etc. - 20lb Abrazx 6'9"MH - All Purpose - 15lb Invizx 6'6" Medium - Treble Lures - 10lb Invizx Spinning MH - All Purpose - One PowerPro Braid (10lb) with an 8lb Leader (InvizX or Red Label) Spinning M - Drop shot - 8lb Invizx Abrazx for it's use in and around cover Invizx for everything else. dam0007 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I use 17# abrazx for cranking seeing as how it's going to be seeing a lot of obstacles in the water. Then I use 6# InvizX for my finesse i.e. drop shots, 1/16 jigs etc. 2 of my favorite lines and cast great. Quote
dam0007 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Oops I run the heavier abrazx on a BC and my light invizX on a spinning setup. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted May 21, 2013 Super User Posted May 21, 2013 Strictly Abrazx. Seems to last longer than other flouros on zebra mussels. Quote
