Super User slonezp Posted May 21, 2013 Super User Posted May 21, 2013 Music fun fishing, no music tourney fishing. Bears games during fall fishing. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted May 21, 2013 Super User Posted May 21, 2013 No music for me, but I see nothing wrong with it. After all, fish and music have something in common. Both have scales. http://youtu.be/iMpXAknykeg Quote
WhiteMike1018 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Id never do this, its great to hear when fish or shad pop on the surface around you and I think the noise of nature also helps give clues to figuring out a pattern. But music is definitely in my ear alot when im not on the water. -Mike Quote
basshole8190 Posted May 21, 2013 Author Posted May 21, 2013 I am very fortunate to be able to fish places that provide an abundance of "Natural Music", day and night. Anything else, would just be noise. A-Jay Don't get me wrong I enjoy the sounds of nature too but its good to have something to help me boost my confidence when its low Quote
James Beck IV Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 when my cousin and I head out for our Sunday Trip, i always play im gonna miss her- Brad Paisley, on the way to the lake its our theme song lol Quote
grizzgreen18 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 If I'm getting off my 12 hour night shift and go to my local pond I always play my real heavy music ( old Metallica, lamb of god, slayer) but if I'm off and I go by myself then I normally listen to Waylon or brad paisley. If I'm with my buddies or my girlfriend the music stays in the car Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted May 21, 2013 Super User Posted May 21, 2013 I always have my ipod with me. When I am by myself and the fishing is slow, I use it. I honestly think it helps me from saying " screw it, this sucks, I am out of here" and instead has kept me on the water long enough to figure something out, or they turned back on. When I am with people, I leave it off. 1 Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted May 21, 2013 Super User Posted May 21, 2013 I love music and it is a big part of my life, but with that said I agree with A-Jay. When I am fishing or camping I want to hear what is going on around me, and do not want music, news, or anything else making noise. I don't really care if others listen as long it is not cranked to the point where it is shaking screws loose on my boat... 1 Quote
Super User Sam Posted May 21, 2013 Super User Posted May 21, 2013 No music, radio, TV, iPhone, iPad, computer, dropping stuff on the floor, dropping storage compartment covers, rattling through your baits and while in my boat, no farting! I need complete silence to concentrate on fishing. Music, news, sporting events takes my concentration away. And I don't want those little green SOBs to get any additional advantages. 1 Quote
GeorgiaBassBros Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I usually will have some music on while im fishing. i prefer country or metal like pantera, metallica, five finger death punch. Quote
Koofy Smacker Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Always. Actually Im about to install speakers into the boat to keep the phone battery at a max. Its always techno music though. Odd thing is that my friends or guys tell me to turn it on when we are out because we always get into fish when I do Quote
Super User Scott F Posted May 22, 2013 Super User Posted May 22, 2013 I love listening to music but when fishing, the only music I want to hear is my drag singing. Quote
Fish Chris Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 I LOVE loud, clean music. Crank my 1600 wt system all the way to the lake But once I'm on the water, I don't want to hear anything but nature. With my ADD, my effectiveness would be cut in half, if I were listening to music, while trying to fish. Peace, Fish Quote
james 14 Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 I'm a music teacher and even I don't want music while in the boat. I'd get distracted by it and would miss stuff going on around me like fish hitting the surface or any number of other things. I also don't want any excess noise in the boat to spook the fish. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted May 22, 2013 Super User Posted May 22, 2013 If you want to catch the big, wily bass, read Bill Murphy's book. He is of the notion that the music, and basically any other noise, will spook most bass away from your boat. 1 Quote
CountBassula Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 No music for me. The quieter the better. Fishing, besides giving the the thrill of catching my next largest bass or snakehead, also is my zen time :-) i like it nice and quiet... Quote
SuthernProg Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I'm a music fanatic, but I don't cuz I wont hear the big splash of a big fish behind me, or the hiss of a moccasin dead ahead. Quote
Sherlock 60 Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 I prefer the peaceful sounds of nature while fishing. Quote
Seth12 Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 If I can pick up service for pandora I usually listen to country if I am cat fishing. But normally only have music If I am on the pier with a few people fishing. Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted May 31, 2013 Super User Posted May 31, 2013 Never in the boat for me. Bank fishing on the rare occasion that I do, I have headphones in for my phone so sometimes I'll have Pandora going. Quote
Kyle Mahaffey Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 If I'm cat fishing I do because it passes the time while waiting for my pole to touch its feet. But I will if its slow and thinking about going home. Quote
