Hi guys, medical question here...

...I caught a snakehead today, and it was bleeding bad from it's mouth. I knelled down to unhook it and it started thrusting. The blood sprayed all over my face and since I wasn't wearing glasses, it splashed right into my left eye. Now I doubt there are any pathogens or bacteria that can be transferred that way, but I don't know... so should I worry? Has this happened to you before? My eye feels just a bit sore after it. I washed my face after getting home (2 hours after the incident). If my eye doesn't feel normal tomorrow I'll probably have it looked at, but i'm a bit freaked out and wanted to hear your opinion...

Thanks!

M.

Dang! Zombie apocalypse starts with you, eh. I never woulda guessed, LOL.

Probably nothing to worry about, though.

Did you flush your eyes with some clean water? Saline solution from the drug store would be best. Or even eye drops (you know, the kind that get the "red" out)...

I think Glenn should do a FISH versus Zombies game for bassresource. Or add zombie-killin' bass to Plants vs. Zombies. Yeah, that'd be cool.

I don't think it should be an issue...I agree with the bacteria though.  Probably the one concern if there is one.

I think you'll be alright. Just watch the eye for the next 48 hours and if anything comes up, got to the eye doctor.

I'm sure you'll forget about all this by Monday and you'll laugh about it later.

I'd be more concerned with the water from those Coral Springs canals.

FYI

Eye entry is most assuredly a means of transfer.

Transfer thru the eye is actually one of the easiest methods of transfer. About the only thing easier is an open wound.

Would not get to worried though, but any discomfort or the eye being bloodshot I would head straight to the doctors office.

Don't hesitate to go to the doctor is anything happens like discomfort. Makes you wonder how our ancestors made it through the wild without modern day medicine. Hope everything is alright. Probably more of a mental thing than physical illness. Can we start calling you Snakehead?
