born2fish94 Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 i havent been here in awhile but i know alot of people replied on my last post about choosing my first boat. Well i finally got one. and after spending hours looking at boats i decided to go with a bigger boat i knew i wanted the storage and speed and size for tournaments. Well i came across an amazing deal and got a 2003 tzx 190 skeeter with a 175 yamaha hpdi. only 198 hours on the boat exactly and man bought it and sat it up but took great care of it. i was cautious and took it to a marine mechanic before buying and he said i should go to jail for the price i got it for. I worked really hard for this and was able to keep up all A's this quarter and work 40 hours a week. Just thought id update all of you that i finally got one! pics are below! 2 Quote

Topwaterspook Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 I'm very happy for you. That's a great looking rig, congradulations. It's a good life lesson you've learned , working hard for something and taking pride in that. Enjoy !! Quote
Super User Sam Posted May 19, 2013 Super User Posted May 19, 2013 Congratulations. You did good. Learn all you can about the boat, motor and its electrical system. This information will help you enjoy the boat and future boats. Get extra keys for the motor and always be sure to have everything the Alabama Fish and Wildlife bureau says you need to have on the boat to be 100% legal. The only thing I can suggest is that you have the boat "wrapped" in a purple and gold motiff. That will not only bring you good luck but the bass will fly to these colors when you are fishing. You will also impress everyone in Alabama as you drive to and from your favorite fishing spots. And be sure to yell "Geaux Tigers" when you hook those big ones. By yelling this you will catch many over five-pounds. Now stop reading this Forum and go out and do some fishing before football season gets here!!! Quote

Super User BassinLou Posted May 19, 2013 Super User Posted May 19, 2013 Congrats man. I am happy for you. You should feel proud for working hard and getting what you want. Good for you. Enjoy. Quote
Skeeter Driver Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Wow - what a great looking rig! I'm a Skeeter man too and you've certainly landed a trophy with that one you're now pulling. Great color too ... just a real beauty! And let me add, awesome grades too man. Keep that up as well. One thing no one can ever take from you is your education. Good Luck with it ... [i've had my Skeeter 202c since it was new in 1997 and it still looks, handles and performs like the day i brought it home from the dealer. Just give your machine proper care and she'l be there for you when you need her.] Quote

Congrats !!! Now you get to relax a little and do some fishing in a very good looking ride, kids like you are rare and I would assume mom and dad are pretty proud of what you have accomplished as well as you should be too !!! Awesome job on both the grades and the ride, I hope it brings you many years of enjoyment for all the hard work !!! Don't forget to post some pics of the first fish from that ride !!!!!! Quote
jhoffman Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 <- jealous My new bass boat mouths off every day and wont eat his dinner Quote
jhoffman Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Youre doing really well so a word of advice from a younger dad(32) When you start to think you want a long term relationship I want you to walk out and hook your boat up to your truck. After you do, drive it to the best lake you can think of. Get out of the cab and walk 20 yards, stand back and look. Now close your eyes and say "poof" cause even if you get to keep it you wont have the time you WANT to be able to use it like you do now. Enjoy it, dont short change yourself like many young men worrying about women. Quote
Gotfishyfingers? Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Just like everyone else, congrats on a nice boat/truck! You have the right attitude in life about working hard to earn things. It is definitely sweeter that way.. Quote
