I am looking to start flippin/pitchin this year. I am looking to get a rod for this set up, but I am unsure what size, power and action type to get. Anyone who can help with some info thanks in advanced.

What size weights or jigs do u plan to use?

what type of cover are you pitchiing to?

how thick is it?

What type of line do you plan on using? (Mono, fluoro, braid)?

What is your budget for this rod?

What iis your prefered rod length?

Answer these questions and we can get a better idea of what your looking for.

7'6" H fast is a good overall choice, but it just depends on how light of heavy u wana go.

I just got back from a 4 day fishing trip and we were pitching and flipping about 98% of the time.  I used my new 7' MH Abu Veritas with my new Revo S and loved every minyte of it.  I would reccomend the Veritas.

Im not much of a dobyns fan but they do make the most balanced flipping sticks I have ever used. I use the the champion 766 but the 765 would be better for what you want to do. I have tried alot of different rods for flippin because I do alot of it and had problems with my wrist after a long day of flippin/punchin 1-1/2 oz weight all day. The dobyns solved my problems.

Heavy power and fast or mod/fast action is what I use for same or similar conditions. You can get away with a MH, but with thick weeds, i like having the extra backbone. But with using braided line, you should be able to get away with a MH.

I have a few flipping rods that i use and i really like them all. I use a Powell Max 765 7'6" H with xf action. 7'7" Shimano Cumara H fast. Those two are my favs. Theyy should work for you.

My recomended rods.

Powell Endurance 764 7'6 MH

Powell Endurance 775 7'7 H

Dobyns Champ 765

ST. Croix legend Tournament bass 7'6 MH mod fast

Shimano Cumara 7'11 H xf

Phenix Recon 2 7'6" MH or H

I just listed rods in the lower tier of your range... there are several 100 rods that will do great too
