James Beck IV Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I personally have learned so much. From different rigs the mojo and rage, to handling the fish correctly, water temp and clarity for tackle color selection. This is by far the most well thought and put together forum I have ever had the pleasure of coming across. The people are great and friendly. The pics of everyones catches are fantastic. Hopefully I will get to join u all on the next road trip. Thanks and save me some of the big uns 1 Quote
Super User Tuckahoe Joe Posted May 18, 2013 Super User Posted May 18, 2013 I've learned a ton. When I started out I was just Google searching my questions about bass fishing and just about every time one of the top search results was a Bass Resource thread. After a while I figured I should join up. Best bass fishing site ever! 1 Quote
Dyerbassman Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 No matter who you are or how much you think you may know, you don't know it all. And this is the best place to learn. I know that I have. 6 Quote
Hyrule Bass Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 ive learned many things here. the best and probably most useful thing i have learned though is the through the gills hook removal method for gut-hooked fish. before learning that i wouldve either just cut the line or ripped a fishes guts out, not anymore... 1 Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted May 18, 2013 Super User Posted May 18, 2013 More than I will ever be able to give back! And it seems I learn something new everyday! Jeff 5 Quote
Super User Darren. Posted May 18, 2013 Super User Posted May 18, 2013 So much. Very grateful for the forum and all you guys! The experience here is the Wikipedia of Bass fishing. Bassipedia = Bassresource.com 2 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted May 18, 2013 Super User Posted May 18, 2013 The amount of info I have gained is simply hard to access but it's massive. What can be measured is the number of wonderful friends I've made and met as a result of this great site. And I have to mention that these friendships have enabled me to fish places I would have NEVER fished. This might seem a touch melodramatic but there is no doubt in my mind that BR changed my life. There's just no denying it. Thank you Glenn. A-Jay 3 Quote
Super User slonezp Posted May 18, 2013 Super User Posted May 18, 2013 I learned Raider wears man thongs... I learned there is no cure for the Bait Monkey I learned "How to send a PM to JFranco" I learned I can never have too many HawgTech handles, NorthStar Jigs, Megastrike attractant, Ragetail Craws or any other fine products the sponsors may offer. I learned that no matter what divides us, race religion, political views, I cannot talk about them here which makes for a MUCH more enjoyable site than many others I visit. It's just fishing. I learned I know enough to know I don't know enough. As long as I'm still in the dark, I'll keep returning for the members to shed some light on me. Still don't know what the Scrounga Club is. Would either of you 2 members care to explain? 7 Quote

Super User whitwolf Posted May 18, 2013 Super User Posted May 18, 2013 The willingness of the majority of the members here to share what they know freely Is uncommon. There are certain things I have practiced(jig trailers for example) since I learned to bass fish and through reading and questions something will pique my Interest and I learned a different way to do something that Is much better. This place has taught me to think about different ways to do things, different baits to throw when conventional wisdom said "no way", and as much as anything a confidence to give back to a place that continually gives. I couldn't agree with Slonezp more about how great it Is to have a relatively drama free place that Is "just fishing". Quote
Trailer Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 A ton. Mostly techniques and what to look for in structure and fish patterns. Those would be the most useful. I've also learned that everyone has an opinion on everything and they all vary. Oh, and Glenn May is the man! My apologies to the rest of the members. I've also learned that despite the annual Thanksgiving melee, LSU fans and Arkansas fans can come together and have a bipartisan conversation about bass fishing... Quote
JellyMan Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I have been fishing most of my life and have quite a bit of knowledge and experience but reading on BassResource.com has help me with little things like techniques and new product discussion. Also new lures and bait discussion helps. I've been trying a few things I typically don't try from reading things here. It has also helped me understand Bass behavior much better. That is a big key in seasonal changes. I would imagine for a newbie angler, this place would be the place to learn all you could learn and then some. Quote
gripnrip Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I have learned WAY to much to list! As well as refreshing my memory after being out of the fishing "game" for a number of years, I have learned so many techniques. I have met some great people during Classic week and I feel like even though I have not met some of you, I still feel like we are developing friendships. I would say the biggest plus from this sight, my terminal tackle box has grown by leaps and bounds. I have numerous options out on the water now. If I don't have a bait that is hot, my boater has more than once offered to hand over some baits to help my catch. To have that option and not be a pest is a major plus! He tosses me the bait and I can be very versatile in my presentation. Quote

Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted May 19, 2013 Super User Posted May 19, 2013 I've learned a lot.. ive got a binder filled with pages of things I read on here and bring it with me Every time I fish. So I have immediate feed back on what happens to write down.. also techniques and rigging baits diff ways are in there... and I keep a log of moon phases time fish are caught plus air temp , wind pressure etc.. I learned to do this from here so thanks every one who's helped!! Quote
mtaag3 Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 I am continuing to learn every time I come on this site. The people so far have been very helpful and I hope to meet quite a few in the future. Quote
BassAssassin726 Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 I've learned an incredible amount from this site. Pretty much everything I know about bass fishing I learned here. I just started fishing two years ago. Me and a buddy would go drown bloodworms in the Delaware and usually not catch crap. After some searching I discovered the wonderful world of bass fishing and this site. Since then I've learned so much. This site is a great place to learn anything you wish to know about our great sport. The mods work hard and keep us informed, you guys rock! Quote
OK Bass Hunter Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 I've learned disposable income needs to be hoarded because there will always be something next week you have to have. Quote
Super User Nitrofreak Posted May 20, 2013 Super User Posted May 20, 2013 My dad got me started, Bass Resource keeps me in it, what has this place not given me should be the question, I have shared personal things and fishing things and in some cases both, no other site I could ever imagine doing such things with. It's brought my family closer together with a lot of the things I have learned, it has not been just about fishing, but it's also been about new friendships. It's opening a post and reading responses, some, you wish you never read, like Raiders Thongs lol !!, some are funny as they can be, some are just what you needed, but all have been there to help you succeed, in laughter, in fishing, in life, this place always brings a smile in some form or another. I think, if I may use a caption, DB said it best, there are " little bit's of wonderful " would be the best way I could put a description to this site and what it has done for me. 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted May 20, 2013 Super User Posted May 20, 2013 Spinnerbaits, jigs, and wacky rigs just to name a few things. Any bass question you have can be answered from this site. Quote
BlackMagic82 Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 I found the club that I fish with through this site and it's been an awesome experience. I also learn something on here every time that I log on... Whether it be a new lure, technique, something to waste money on, creative boat storage, or something random about a poster. Great website and really glad that I found it. Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted May 20, 2013 Super User Posted May 20, 2013 I have at least $100 worth of DVD's which don't even compare to the quality of the learning I have done through this site. I even feel more confident in my tactics on the water because of the validation (or corrections) which came through discussions on this site. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted May 20, 2013 Super User Posted May 20, 2013 What I've learned is immeasurable. I can only use my successes on the water as proof that this site will accelerate your learning curve. 4 Quote
