Bonifas9017 Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Just like it says looking for the best braid line. Looking to use it one my shakey head/ drop shot combo. Thanks Quote
mjseverson24 Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 power pro, suffix 832, spiderwire, most braids are pretty good its all in what you want out of them... Mitch Quote
War Eagle 44 Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Original Power Pro is very good braid but their new Super 8 Slick has become my favorite. I'm super impressed with the S8S in 20# on my spinning gear. S8S would be my top choice in braided line at the moment, it's been really good for me with any technique I've tried it with, spinning or casting. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted May 18, 2013 Super User Posted May 18, 2013 The best is the one that becomes your personal favorite. 2 Quote

The Commodore Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I have been using Fins XS Windtamer in 15lb on one of my spinning outfits and I have yet to have a wind knot even in ridiculous wind. I also get a little further cast. Wind picks it up but it won't wind knot. Quote
nwmike Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 power pro is a great line I was also impressed with the p line braid. Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted May 18, 2013 Super User Posted May 18, 2013 I use 832 and Power pro. Both are great braids. Quote
Super User deep Posted May 18, 2013 Super User Posted May 18, 2013 I use Daiwa Samurai. 30# for spinning gear, 55# for casting. Quote
jtesch Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Samurai, hands down. With a floro leader on my spinning Quote
Super User Teal Posted May 18, 2013 Super User Posted May 18, 2013 Agree with Snook, but my personal favorite is SpiderWire Ultra Cast. Suffix 832 is great also. Quote
Capt.Bob Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 SUFFIX 832, best I have found, one I would never recamend is Fireline Braid, seems good but constant wind knotts, and have had numerable line whips on cast that cut themselves, have never had one good trouble free outing with it????? 1 Quote
War Eagle 44 Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 power pro is a great line I was also impressed with the p line braid. I too really like P-Line braid but I didn't bring it up because to me it and Power Pro original are very similar lines. Also P-Line braid has become all but impossible to find locally for me, I'm not sure why all the shops stopped stocking it but they have. Again I'm just so happy with S8S right now, the line I've had on my frog rod since the beginning of this year is so "broken in" now that it isn't even really brown anymore, it's a light tan color now. It is so limp and casts so easy that I'm able to use very little effort to cast my lures and I'm really really liking this attribute. Other braids break in well to but none to this degree for me. alexczarn Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I prefer Spiderwire. I just got too many cast tangles with Power Pro. Quote
Bonifas9017 Posted May 19, 2013 Author Posted May 19, 2013 Thanks everybody I think I am going to try prowler pro super 8 slick Quote
PondBoss Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Spider Wire Stealth for general use 30lb Invisibraid for sight fishing also 30lb. Spinning gear is Stealth 12lb or Invisibraid 15lb Quote
Got1Fishing Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Suffix 832! 50lbs for jigs, 30lbs for cranks. Quote
