Ken Browning Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 I've used a particular product to add a garlic scent and a chartreuse coloring to my plastics. I've used it with some success until yesterday when I went to dip the worm in the treatment only to see it dissolve my plastic baits........it wasn't hot ( I keep it well below 95 degrees). Anyone else have this experience? I like using it but I don't want to dissolve my plastics...... Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted May 17, 2013 Super User Posted May 17, 2013 Certain plastics and certain scents don't mix. Be more specific and someone will tell you "Yes you can" or, "Don't do that". 1 Quote
Skeeter Driver Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 In mi view, MarkH called it here. Have to make sure the chemical properties of the plastics will not be adversely affected by exposure to the make-up of the scent. Also soft plastics do break-down over a very long period of time. Need to be alert to the age of the plastics as well. Quote
ripinthem Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 If you used elastatech in JJ's, well, thats pretty funny...Not laughing at you, but remembring when I did it. Quote
TNBassin' Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 I've had a similar experience with Spike It. Melted the claws right off of my craw. Quote
