I need help  I am new at selling fishing gear , where do you go to sell fishing reel or anything that fishing gear related , I have some used bait casting reels that are in working order and some old fishing bags , and some soft plastic baits that were never used . What place do you guys go to sell  all your unused or used  gear ? any opinion

My reason is to upgrade on some new reels and rods , also new tackle bags  . If there a ways  to sell them on this forum how do I start this and is there any fee toward the forum to do this or is it free .

Reels are

Pinnacle Vision slyder casting reel ( 6 bearing ) (7.0:1 gear ratio ) (2qty) ( has paper with both reels )

Abu Garcia ambassadeur 1003lp casting reel ( 3 bearing ) ( 6.1:1 gear ratio )(extra spool , extra handle , extra side plates ) (1 qty )

Abu Garcia Cardinal 302i spinning reel (  5 bearing ) ( 5.1:1 gear ratio ) ( 1 qty )

Browning tackle bag

soft plastic are all different companies .

prices are undecided for right now but I have had these reel for about ( 2- 3 years now)

all other bags and soft plastic are undecided price as well

I was just trying to find information but redneck I think the Abu Garcia casting reel with extra spool would probably cost a little more than $15 . Still deciding on price but thank for being interested , will think what the price should be probably by the next of this week , I have to talk it over with my buddy .

Look up the same items on eBay or Craig's list and see if you can find them for sale. Then check out the asking price.

Market conditions will dictate what others are willing to pay for the products.

As stated above, after you have figured out a price put items for sale on the Forum's Flea Market site.

Are you in middle or high school?

No.  I use Postal Money Orders a lot.  Occasionally a seller will accept personal checks if he knows the buyer.  I've heard of people wiring the money.  Mostly it is up to you.  How willing are you to trust people?  I find most to be honest, but remember there is always that bad apple.  :cry4:

I would say to price your items half of retail value plus or minus

If your item is banged up less then half of retail value

If your item is in very good condition little more then half retail value

for example Pinnacle Vision slyder casting reel i found online at walmart $30

if reel is like new id ask $20

Then you have to figure in shipping and paypal fees

When i post stuff for sale i usally eat the shipping and paypal fees also i start my asking price a little higher then what i plan on getting seems every one always wants to wheeel and deal to get the price lower

hope this helps

I agree with Matthew about 50% of retail for used equipment, depending on condition.  There are a few reels that are very popular and sell for more but I don't think yours qualify.

IMPO those reels when new, weren't worth more than $60.00ea.... :Victory:

even new in the box buying today I wouldn't pay more than 25.00ea.

Also why haven't the mods here placed this thread in the proper forum? :dazed-7:

Thank for the input and I was unsure which forum to put it in . The pinnacle reel were worth $60 each and the did a get job catching some nice bass for me. I just looking to upgrade on the reels and get some different ones . Also so what if I am in college . There's no age limit on here anyways . I have a great job that pays me well so I can get all this stuff . I just look for some ideas to sell my reels and gear . Just want some input on how I should price them n sell them. I do have some higher price reels like abu Garcia revos n lews also pflueger but just have some reels that I use once in awhile while practicing for local tournaments.

I don't think there is an age limit berkleyfan.  I believe what they are referring to is the grammar and spelling.  If you are on your phone, that is cool to.  The guys and gals on here can help you better if they can understand your post.  I personally don't use abbreviated words on my text messages to people.  IMO it makes a person look lazy.  Also I am by no means an expert in grammar or writing in general.  BUT I do at least make a decent effort at doing so.   :wink2:

I know what you are say grip, it tends to happen . I guess I have to run everything by spell check for some people to understand things more better but half of the people understood what I was talking about it . So that what really matter to me , it just that some people don't understand abbreviated words . Well I guess I have to not do that anymore because people don't get it .
