I have the 7'3" med/hvy casting and the 7'1" med spinning, love them both. I have heard a of of people complain about the seat, but I have no issues with it. Super sensitive, very well crafted, for the money i spent on them, I have no complaints, I would buy more if I needed them.

i also have the MED/HVY 7'3

excellent rod. i let my friend tyler use it ( keep in mind he owns a few champ extremes & 1 GLX) and said the snsitivity was just as good as his rods, which cost quite a bit more.

he said overall its an excellent rod, just as light, sensitive, and balanced as his. he did like the handle, i do also.

the recoil guides are good. I think at ICAST this year, they are introducing a gen.2 of these rods, which feature there own "custom guides" like on the *** series but obviously better..

i plan on getting another casting an spinning rod.  its an excellent rod, that should be priced 2x more than what it is.

Great rod overall, well built, sensitive, looks great

but

cons for me

short handle, wasn't noticed until I caught an 8lb snakehead, that 1/2 inch to inch compared to some rods made a difference in control tucking the rod under my forearm. Its shorter than every other rod I own.

reel seat where it meets the cork. Initially I found it comfy but it makes my palm hurt at the ball of my pointer finger when casting which someone else said they noticed after using it for a bit....That  happened  to me using it during extensive testing. I noticed it when making  repetitive casts during my topwater testing.

If I space my hand away slightly, no probs. I have no problem with my other rods, so its just this one. It may be user dependent because some people say the veritas hurts them an I have no problems, but something to be aware of

I probably wont have many issues with either con since its my jig rod.

That's what I'm looking at one for, a little heavier jig rod. The short handle won't hurt me too bad as I mostly pitch instead of cast.

I was talking to a fella from there yesterday and he alluded to some new rods coming out. Perhaps I will hold of for just a bit then.

I was ready to buy two of them the other day as I love my Omens.  Ended up getting a great deal on a couple of dobyns Champ extremes.

I will own one of these one day though.

If you get one please post about your impressions.
