WDE86 Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 I'm loving a couple I picked up made by Mann's (I apologize for not knowing the specific model). They have a good tight action and are great for fishing over grass beds in shallow water. Quote
Matthew Veillion Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Lucie strike rick clunn crankbaits. I have a few of them and none of them run crooked and none have broken. The only bad thing is they don't have bluegill and crawfish colors. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted May 14, 2013 Super User Posted May 14, 2013 Norman Fat Boy, LC 2.5 & 3.5 and Bandit 200 & 300. Quote
powerduster Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Well I really have only one really shallow crankbait and its the megabass griffon zero. I like it a lot and I happen to grab the last one from my local tackle shop so it's pretty poplular. One day Im gonna lose it to a pickerel and I am gonna feel really bad. Quote
Super User Ratherbfishing Posted May 14, 2013 Super User Posted May 14, 2013 I haven't tried them all but the Mann's 1 minus is difficult to beat. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted May 14, 2013 Super User Posted May 14, 2013 I like Mann's. Several people that I fish with like the BPS models. I use to fish Storm Sub warts, but they have become hard to find. Quote
gobig Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 I have got several that I like for different situations but if I had to choose just one, it would be a Luhr Jensen speedtrap. They cast like crap and they are not that durable but they flat out catch big fish. I don't own another crank that has put more fish over 5# in the boat. 1 Quote
prjavelin Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 manns 1 minus. that thing moves a lot of water. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted May 15, 2013 Global Moderator Posted May 15, 2013 I guess I consider baits like a 1- to be more of a topwater than a crankbait but if you're talking super shallow a 1- or subwart are my favorites. A little deeper and it's a LC 1.5. Quote
Snakehead Whisperer Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Bass Pro Shops The Egg. These are the truth. Hooks aren't that great, but they can be changed. I've caught more large snakeheads on the egg than any other bait. 1- is also a great bait. The ghost gill color has been really good to me. I consider these wake baits. Quote
Silas Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Secret weapon!! Megabass SR-X Griffon.......Crack-Jungle color! Small and deadly. Expensive, too! Quote
bleedingshrimp Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 I'm actually rather partial to my Bomber square As. Granted, my experience is limited. 2 Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Norman N and Luhr Jensen Speed Trap have been my best producers over the last 13 years. Quote
fadetoblack21 Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 The shallowest I own at the moment would have to be the Xcalibur xcs 100's. I love them, and have been finding a ton of them at the Walmart bargain bin over the last few weeks for under $3, I own ALOT of these. . . Quote

Super User clayton86 Posted May 15, 2013 Super User Posted May 15, 2013 Manns 1 minus I buy them every chance I get I don't see em often in stores around here though Quote

What depths are you getting with on these? Line diameter? I want a batch of cranks to run 6-10 inches below surface. Manns 1- like stated was going to be my next attempt. For straight up squarebills I like the KVD 1.5 or 2.5. Quote
tholmes Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Norman Fat Boy, LC 2.5 & 3.5 and Bandit 200 & 300. ^^ This. The Norman Fat Boy is a killer! I also like the Rapala DT-4. Tom Quote
