I'm kind of odd that if I am nowhere near a toilet, I can literally go all day without having to even take a leak.  However, once I get off the water, the closer I get to the toilet, the stronger the urge to go gets to the point where sometimes I'm thinking I won't make it through weigh-in lol.

That kinda reminds me of a story of a friend of mine.

Early spring perch fishing, my dad, my buddy and I were out all day.   My buddy kept saying he had a "not so nice feeling" all day, blaming it on a sausage breakfast sandwich on the way to the lake.  I kept offering the bucket (we were many miles from a launch) but he was proud enough to say no, he'll be OK.  His stomach cramps were getting worse, and it was getting late in the day, so we called it a day.  Getting close to the ramp, I could see he was getting mighty anxious to hit the bathrooms, if fact I let him off at the dock before even putting the boat on the trailer and he took off in a brisk walk.

So my dad and I loaded the boat, about a half hour went by, and my buddy finally wanders over to us.  No shirt, no socks, carrying his boots in his hands.  It's like 45 degrees outside, not exactly shirtless weather.   You know how as you get closer to a bathroom for relief, you kinda pass the point of no return?  Well, he did and was, and the bathrooms were locked!!    He had to drop his skibbies right then and there at the door and let things fly.  He said it looked like a crime scene when he was done.   lol    Shirt and socks were used as clean-up aids.   He said the worst part was a lady that drove slowly by in a car right at that moment, rolled down the window and asked him a random question about something, saw what what going on, had a confused/disgruntled look on her face, and kept on driving.

Use the bucket!!  Be not afraid!!

Why do you think bass boats have dual livewells? One for the toads and one for the turds.

imagine a big "brownie" slipped into kvd's weigh in bag.

Wonder if there is a size limit on mudsharks

I recently took back up fishing for the first time since I was a kid and have fallen in love with it all over again.

Anyway, I was watching Bassmasters the other day and the dumbest question came to mind. What do those guys do when they need to poop? I mean, there are cameras everywhere. Obviously, they would not film a guy trying to do his business, but still, how awkward.

Do they go in the woods, have some kind of portable toilet on their boat, how does that work?

*********************************************************************************************************

1. Not all of them have an audience--in which case you really do not want to know!

2. At the Classic this year I Marshalled for 4 days--answer--you don't, period. Adjust your schedule or die.!

As for number one: it is easier but you have to plan ahead.

You are able to outrun the spectators and get to an isolated spot with a short (no pun intended) window to relieve yourself---this assumes you are not layered in heavy Gortex rain gear and can move fast. This also assumes you are not being watched by folks from homes on shore/bluffs, etc. who are already at the "isolated" spot.

I have seen the pros run to their spot, troll close by a dock --making them hidden for a minute-- and relieve themselves-----while still fishing!! Plan ahead--the back of the boat will slowly go by the dock also, but advise the pro--so he won't hit #8 and throw you out--or turn around and re-cast back to the dock.

Oh yea I forgot about that. They must keep a body part on the boat at all times. Like you said, no intake no output. lol

Actually they can do this--it is called declaring an emergency. It is ok as long as they  are not fishing from outside the boat.

I have to go a lot. It used to affect my fishing. I resorted to a 5 gallon bucket, a garbage bag and a roll of TP. But when you have a co-angler in your boat, that isn't an option. I tried eating right and all that stuff and it never worked. I eat a saltine, its coming out. So I decided to take an anti diarrhea pill before I leave for the ramp. I'm #2 free all day. For #1, a Gatorade bottle is my best friend.

I have the same stuff in my boat. It is heavy, heavy duty garbage bags. Also-my co-angler just gets to sit in front of the boat for a while--doesn't have to be downwind--mine don't stink-- just task Pro Crafter and Rhino!!

I just recently realized that my plastic trash container, when lined with a plastic baggy can do double duty (pun intended) as the head.  Flip up the step, sit, wipe, knot the top of the bag and resume fishing.  Haven't had to use it yet, but should the need arise, I'm prepared.

The problem is the toilet is adjacent to the cooler.  Oh well, whatcha gonna do.

Good to know , Rhino. Now I know why you wanted to take a separate additional ice chest on board at Pickwick--it must have been those Krispy Kreme crème filled chocolate covered pastries. yum.

When I was a marshal at Lake Oneida last year, I was with Terry Butcher, Bill Lowen, and Fletcher Shryock. They definitely adjusted their eating schedules. Terry Butcher ate nothing the entire day. He drank a few waters really fast when he needed too and just went number one off the side when he had a chance. Bill Lowen ate one cold slice of pizza toward the end of the day, just drank water, same deal. Fletcher Shryock didn't eat anything the entire day (maybe 1 granola bar?), and just drank a few waters and a mountain dew.

If you drink just the right amount of water to keep you hydrated, and you don't eat much, you may not even half to go number one.

Stink?  I couldn't tell you whether or not it does.  What I can tell you is that the blisters in my nasal passages are about healed.  It took a week for my eyes to stop watering.  I had to throw the outfit I was wearing in the trash.  It looked like it had been dipped in battery acid, and chlorine bleach.

I too have had my days where my body is out of whack while on the water, and most often I'm in sight of homes, highways, industrial/government plants, etc.

I solved my problems with BassRoom   http://www.coveryourbass.com/product.html, I got the complete set and everyone that has had an occasion to use it, loves it.  BassRomm is fast to put up and stow away.  It also works as a rain cover if your getting dumped on, but it is not water proof, and it helps if you need to get out of the sun for a while.

I have a ritual before long days on the water or in the woods.

that is eat a light dinner, force one out at wake up, no breakfast, try to poop again before launching the boat...try hard lol

I have yet to take a dump while on the water.

Just hang it off the back let er rip. It is just natural. The birds and the bees and the cows all do it. It simply makes the lake more fertile and helps to grow larger bass and other lower order oganisms at the bottom of the foodchain such as bottom feeders and the lowest of all Jetskiers!

I have experienced the same behavior by the Pros when I Marshal ....But remember that they are metabolizing what they ate the day/night before the morning you got in the boat with them. Sooo..the question is what did they do BEFORE you got into the boat with them that morning! I do not know for sure what they did, but I am willing to wager a good guess.

Yes they cannot get out of the boat to goto the woods. There is always a marshall with them. I had a grumbler come on one time on Bull Shoals I had to just hang it over the side and let er rip.

my new hero, i just held it for 8hrs last week at clear lake.painfull,  hats off to you my freind

I've often wondered this too.. I always assumed it was legal to get off the boat to take a dump midday if needed.  Are they that strict that they wont allow that?

In my club, the only time we are allowed off the boat is in an emergency or to seek shelter during lightning. I'm not sure a #2 is considered an emergency

I eat light the night before, and no coffee in the morning.

No coffee in the morning? I might accidentally kill someone without my coffee that early lol
