CiMo Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 I was taking apart the reel and going to clean it and my 2 yr old grabbed the mat I had my parts sitting on...the main problem I am having is with the spool tension knob area... when he pulled it off a small bearing and washer is what I found on the floor I have the parts list and diagram thing but its not really helping... I think I need a step by step guide of some sort or something but can't seem to find anything. Thanks for any help you can tell me or direct me to. Quote
Super User deep Posted May 10, 2013 Super User Posted May 10, 2013 By "diagram thing", do you mean the schematics? I have never owned a Quantum, so I'm probably not qualified to reply. But my Curados and Citicas don't have a whole lot going on in the spool tension knob area. I once bought a Citica with a couple of missing parts in the spool tension assembly (the spring and the spacer). I pulled out the schematics, checked what the reel didn't have, and ordered the two things the reel needed. (Well, it needed a few more parts for the handle assembly). Quote

Google does wonders I've got the schematics, but something just seems off like there's still a part missing... I have hardwood floors in my kitchen where I was and I've found no other parts though. . I wonder if its possible they didn't add something when they put it together at the factory. Quote

More than likely something rolled away to the abyss when your 2 year old made the whoopsy. If you're not confident in what you're doing, go have it serviced. Best of luck Quote
CiMo Posted May 10, 2013 Author Posted May 10, 2013 To be a little more specific .. the spool tension washer, spool tension collar and the spool tension cusion is what seems off. Lol I've had that happen before but in this case I was extra careful it was a wife open area and no place for anything to secretly roll and get lost in.. so it woulda been on the floor for sure.
