JT Bagwell Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 For those of you that didn't know, I recently teamed with Siebert Outdoors. Here is one of the first jigs that they have made for me. It is called the Bloody Shad Swim Jig. (Silver/White with Red) It is not available on their site yet but I am sure it will be soon and you can probably shoot them an email or a message on here to get your orders in early. Here is what it looks like laying on the deck of my boat with a Yamamoto Swim Senko trailer. I can tell you that it works great and comes through weeds/grass really well too. For those not familar with a Swim Jig, I fish them very much like a crankbait but they don't get hung up as often. 2 Quote
kylek Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Thats a great looking jig!! I have a spinnerbait that is pretty close to the same color and it is by far my best one. I might have to sweet talk the wife into letting me get a few of these ordered soon. 1 Quote
JT Bagwell Posted May 9, 2013 Author Posted May 9, 2013 The fish were loving it the other day when I was out that's for sure. Btw: That is a 4" Swim Senko I used as a trailer, not a 5" in case anyone was wondering. Quote
Fisher_C Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 I have never used a swim jig and was thinking of trying a few out this year. I love the quality and customer service with siebert jigs, so I will go through them for sure. Like I said I am new to swim jigs, I was wondering what weight is a good all around weight as well as color? Thanks in advance. Quote
madperry Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 That is a great idea for a lure. Combines my 2nd and 3rd favorite ways to fish for bass. Hopefully they have some alternate colors when they roll them out? Quote

Like I said I am new to swim jigs, I was wondering what weight is a good all around weight as well as color? Thanks in advance. If I had only choose 1 weight it would be 1/2 ounce. But they are like everything else, they come in all kinds of different weights. I am sure there are people that prefer all the difference sizes but if I could only have one it would be 1/2 ounce. Madperry - They come in several colors and they work. This is just a color that works really well. Quote
Dyerbassman Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 I'll take the JT Special when its available! 1 Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted May 10, 2013 Super User Posted May 10, 2013 Love the swim jigs. One of my go to baits. They always produce. I like bluegill and perch colors. 1 Quote
gripnrip Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Awesome! I have a big order coming from there soon! I didn't pick up any swim jigs. Fathers Day is around the corner though! 1 Quote
Downeaster2010 Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 I make all my own stuff, and I like that. I believe I would add red flake to the swim jig to finish it off. But a very nice looking bait for sure. Quote
TNBassin' Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Thanks to this board I've started to try these out. Like JT said, you can work it like a crank and not get hung up. 1 Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted May 22, 2013 Super User Posted May 22, 2013 I've been wanting to try a real swim jig... I normally just use a casting jig like a swim jig Quote
TNBassin' Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Booyah makes some good ones for cheap. That head slides through the rough stuff with ease. Pretty good hook too. Quote
