PABASS Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I just purchased a bag of these apparently I don't have a hook that is long enough, what typ/size hook is effective with these lures? Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted May 7, 2013 Super User Posted May 7, 2013 I use a 5/o Gamakatsu screw lock. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted May 7, 2013 Super User Posted May 7, 2013 1/4 oz Stroker Weighted Hooks from Moaner Hooks: http://www.moanerhooks.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=68_66&zenid=2b997bc65a77c11800164a1641c5d4b9 Quote
Super User Paul Roberts Posted May 9, 2013 Super User Posted May 9, 2013 Canyon Plastics makes a hollow body jig head. I bought some but haven't tried them yet. I like the idea. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted May 9, 2013 Super User Posted May 9, 2013 You'd do best to consider a 3/8 oz., 4/0 size swimbait type hook. Rig it "texposed". With the weight on the belly of these plastics, the motion of the bait, moving through the water, extends to both the head and tail. The action is incredible and very productive. Also, rigged in this fasion, it can be fished through various covers without hanging up. Quite effective for early season SM, LM, stripers, catfish....you name it! Look also into getting some Keiteck Swing Impacts. Quote
