Off to the Quabbin again yesterday, arrived at gate 43 at 7:15, air temp 36 degrees water temps up almost 10 degreees to 61.  started on the humps with a couple of followers no takers, moved a little closer to shore and connected on a nice 3lber, saw a couple of beds but no one home. Down the lake toward the pass to a couple of spawning flats, more spawing beds but all empty. moved a little deeper and picked up a couple on the jig, decided to go thru the pass and over to a good sized cove where we connected last wk, about a half a dozen on jerk baits biggest over 4lbs,  friend with me stuck a jerk bait treble past the barb so after removing that and some first aid we moved little further down the lake to a huge flat, dead calm water started thowing the jig with rage craw trailer and immediately connected on a 4.2, then 2 over 3lbs, then a big tank going 5.4, there were fish cruising everywhere, we  went around the corner and connected on another big fish 5lbs even, probably caught around 25 smallies and others that just would pick it up and drop it before I could set the hook. Place is a remarkable fishery, it's been so long since I've caught a 5lb smallie (and never at Quabbin) but to catch 2 over 5 and another 2 over 4, I truely feel blessed in my old age.   Again sorry about no pics, but if I can get my son over here to tranfer them from my I phone, or if someone can give me instructions on how to do it, I'll post them up. Have to believe these fish will be on beds big time within the nxt few days and after seeing so many dead fish lying on beds on Winni a number of yrs back I refuse to fish for bedding fish.

Nice job out there! Congrats. :) I've fished the Quabbin for the better part of 30 years and have had some really remarkable fishing there. Can't ask for a better fishery in this neck of the woods.
