In over 35 years of panfishing, I've caught more crappie, bluegill & yellow perch on a 2" curly tail (various colors) on the back of a 1/16 oz. ball head jig, than all the other baits I've tried combined. That being said, for the past 4 seasons, I've had extraordinary success with the Bobby Garland's Baby Shads on the same ball head jigs. If I had to pick only one however, it would definitely be the curly tail. :)

Small 1/32 oz jigs with tiny tubes or grub tails. Anything chartruse or pink has been good to me.
