BenB54 Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Went out this past weekend with a friend to fish O.H. Ivie and had a pretty good weekend. I ended up catching a new personal best and my first double digit bass weighing in at 10.75 lbs. Caught her on a Siebert Outdoors storm series jig, 1/2oz brush in the series with a big bite yodaddy in easy money as a trailer. She was sitting at the base of a small tree in 3-4 FOW. I figured I would share it with yall. 6 Quote

rmcguirk Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Congrats. Beautiful fish. Unlike that fine looking specimen, Often, when you see a pic of a DD, it looks kind of tattered and discolored. Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted May 6, 2013 Super User Posted May 6, 2013 Very nice fish I love catching em on jigs Quote

BenB54 Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 Nice catch! How's the water level? I haven't been to Ivie this year. Thanks all for the nice comments, It's still really low. It's down about 37'. It's wild cruising and looking at contour lines on your electronics and them saying they are 45ft deep but, there is only 8 fow below the boat. Quote
georgeyew Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Awesome fish. How did it feel pulling that monster into the boat? Quote
gallowaypt Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Congratulations! Did you happen to get her length? Quote
BenB54 Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 Awesome fish. How did it feel pulling that monster into the boat? It was a blast, I set the hook and she immediately started taking drag and actually wrapped me half way around a small limb. Luckily I had a friend with me who was quick with the net and we got the boat backed up enough to scoop her up right as I got her untangled. I was pumped when we got her into the boat. I wouldn't say I went total Ike, but I let out a pretty loud yelp. Quote
BenB54 Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 Congratulations! Did you happen to get her length? I didn't get a length, after the pic I weighed her and let her go. There was another pic with the fish on the scale so, I could go and measure the length of the scale and then use that to get a rough estimate of the length by comparing its size to the the size of the fish. I might have to go back and do that. Quote
