Unknownwaters Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I was planning on testing out some of my new fishing lures on our neighborhood pool to determine their action and depth and was wondering if the pool water could cause any damage to them. I should probably wash them off afterwards just to be safe. Quote
derekxec Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 i test them in my pool always and check out new ways to work them it doesnt really do anything but i use a test rod with old braid...that and i dont care if i have to go buy another after it so if they get messed up it doesnt really bother me Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 If it absorbs any chlorine that is dissolved in the pool water (as well as anything else that is suspended in that neighborhood soup...) it will dissipate after a cast or two. If you don't feel confident that it won't dissolve off, roll it around in some mud and muck at the edge of the pond or lake you're fishing at. That ought to do it... Quote
airborne_angler Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Crankbaits/spinner baits are reaction baits. Fish don't have time to analyze and sniff em out. They just either wack em or they just let em swim by. Soft plastics and jigs can be either Reaction baits (hit on the fall) or not. With these its kind of a toss up. Quote
