airborne_angler Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Been messing with my Ambassadeur 6000 trying to figure out why it binds while cranking. I looked into almost every component and have discovered the shaft going through the spool is bent a little bit. I'd like to source a replacement spindle/axle (whatever its called). I've found replacements for the 5500 series Ambassadeurs but not sure if they are the same. So...what is the correct name/nomenclature for this shaft and does anyone know a good part number? Quote
Super User Maxximus Redneckus Posted May 5, 2013 Super User Posted May 5, 2013 No clue about that part #.but a 5000 size would be to short. Quote
0119 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 A 6000 not a 6000C right? The axle is integral to the spool kind of 6000? If Abu doesn't have them try hookless *. Quote
airborne_angler Posted May 5, 2013 Author Posted May 5, 2013 The axle can be seperated from the spool on my 6000. My 6000 has the bait clicker switch on it. Quote
Super User .RM. Posted May 6, 2013 Super User Posted May 6, 2013 Need to know more...... You wouldn't believe how many 6000 round reel schematics there are. Turn the reel over and post the numbers that you see on the bottom of the reel foot or post the year you purchased the reel and the reel color.. Tight Lines! Quote
airborne_angler Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 Numbers on the bottom of reel foot are as follows: 090115/52 Quote
Super User .RM. Posted May 8, 2013 Super User Posted May 8, 2013 Checking the schematic for the 09-00 model the spool shaft part number is #802631The spool assembly part number complete w/o spool shaft is #820553.... Hope this helps... 1 Quote
