Gamec0cks5 Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Do yourself a favor, return it and get your money back. X2 I got caught on it, but haven't caught a single fish on it Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted May 23, 2010 Super User Posted May 23, 2010 They work very well in the private phosphate pits in Florida for Bill Dance. He is a good salesman. Quote
Frogman Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 JUNK.....but I did pick one up and my buddy did as well. He actually caught a fish on his. Don't buy it Quote
shootermcbob Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 I bought two of them. I watched Billy and Bobby Murray catch fish after fish with the dancin eel. I got the one each of them was using as they used different colors. I have never caught a fish on this lure. In all fairness, I do not throw it hardly at all. Quote
Hornytoad 10 Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 they look good in the water, but when you reel them they twist, and run upside down. don't waste your money. Quote
Blue Streak Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Fish them slow with patience, I have caught some big bass on them. Quote
wbassrogue Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 i have one,it has isssues running true.. looks like a fish killer when its moving thru the water but i havent caught anything on it(to be fair ive only fished it maybe 1 hour in total) Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted May 23, 2010 Super User Posted May 23, 2010 I rate it right up there with the Banjo Minnow. Quote
Dave P Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Never caught a fish on it and I was glad when it became buried in a brush pile. Quote
brophog Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Never caught one either, though taking it out of the package first might help. Quote
hookset on 3 Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 I use them to imitate tadpoles and they have worked well for me in a few small ponds I hit regularly. Quote
basscrusher Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 I'm also in the majority...haven't caught a thing on mine. Although I gotta say, mine runs true, and looks awesome in the water. It should catch fish... Now that I think about it, I might have caught a fish on one of these practicing for regionals on the Pasquotank river a few years ago. Can't really remember, but I know I was throwing this lure (we were desperate). Quote
Blue Streak Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 This is a soft plastic lure and needs to be fished that way. The action is similar to the Eeliminator which is also a lure that is difficult to make run true but is worth the effort. I guess it is just a lure that people love to hate, but I have done well with it over the years. Quote
oprcsr Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 I still have two of the original Dancin Eels. I don't think I've ever got anything on them. Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 They didn't work in 1983 and still don't. I put mine next to the helicopter lures by Roland Martin. YUM = You Underestimate Marketing Quote
cccsguy Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 I have caught fish on them. Stay with the larger lure variety instead of the baby dancin eel. The hooks tend to get caught in my line a little too often for my taste. Quote
never enough Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 only seem to work in nieghborhood lakes that dont get any pressure Quote
