5 Dollar Fishing Game Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I love the swim baits I have but here in NC the hydrangea is growing with the other green under the water. I use a lot of weedless stuff too, but I like my minnows. They catch the snot grass ALL the time. Do they have weedless minnows or can I make one of mine weedless? Quote
5 Dollar Fishing Game Posted May 3, 2013 Author Posted May 3, 2013 I can puppet a minnow pretty effectively (toot toot) and the bass love it. I need a weedless option for these little guys. ;-) Quote
fishking247 Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 use a weighted swimbait hook. it is an EWG hook with a piece of lead molded onto the shank of the hook. Quote
vikingbear8 Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I throw swim baits on the back of a swimjig and i can get that through about anything. Of course there is always the mission fish too Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted May 3, 2013 Super User Posted May 3, 2013 I have been having good success in the grass with swim jigs and also money minnows on a weighted screw lock hook that i then slather up with some bio edge wand scent that seems to help them slide through cover better. Quote
5 Dollar Fishing Game Posted May 3, 2013 Author Posted May 3, 2013 Good idea with the lubricant. ;-) Quote
jerzeeD Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 The Huddleston Grass Minnow ( as well as the weedless shad) is a top notch weedless swim bait that produces well. 1 Quote
