JT Bagwell Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Is the weather weird everywhere right now or is it just here in the midwest? It was cold forever then it hit the 80's 2 days in a row and now it is back to being cool and crappy and looks like it will be for a while. I just need some warm weather pllllllllllllllllease. Ok I am done complaining for today. lol 1 Quote
Nebasska Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 yeah i was fishing in 85 degress a few days ago and it snowed yesterday here in NE.......We need the water but real sick of the cold too...... 1 Quote
wisconsin heat Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Must be the midwest, snow is coming down heavy where I'm at, we've gotten over 10 inches since 6 A.M. Saturday is Wisconsin's opener and it looks like I will have to buy a new pair of boots to fish in! Also Some lakes are still frozen. The lakes a little further north of me still have 20+ inches of Ice! Thankfully for me the little warm spell we had opened all my local spots....It's a terrible year for fishing... Quote
Super User Ratherbfishing Posted May 2, 2013 Super User Posted May 2, 2013 I always hear people complaining about the weather but I've never known anyone to do anything about it. Yes, this weather is goofy as *&^%%!!! It's wreaking havoc on all my plans. p.s., Being from geneseo, do you fish the Henepin canal much? Quote
Super User slonezp Posted May 2, 2013 Super User Posted May 2, 2013 86 yesterday 46 and rain today 2 Quote
JT Bagwell Posted May 2, 2013 Author Posted May 2, 2013 I have only lived in Geneseo a little over a year but I have fished the canal a few times. So far I have not been all that impressed. It is super shallow and it stinks. A lot people say there are nice fish in it but so far the biggest I have caught is 3 lbs and that was the first one I ever caught there. Where do you live? Quote
weekendwarrior Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Mid 70's yesterday, high 50's today. The entire midwest is confused right now. 1 Quote
Super User senile1 Posted May 2, 2013 Super User Posted May 2, 2013 I guess I shouldn't complain. From the comments already posted I see some of you have it much worse than me, but what the heck, I'll add my woes to the pile. In my area we should be experiencing air temperatures ranging from the 60s to the low 80s depending on the day and the weather. Temperatures hit the 80s the last two days but right now it is snowing and sticking. It is an extremely rare event for Kansas City to have snow in May but the prediction is for up to 3 inches per the weather channel. Three inches isn't much for a snow here, but it is a lot for May. Silas Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Heavy rains here today and yesterday. Rivers rising. Tomorrow record cold for this time of year. Bass fishing has been on "hold" for about a month!! Quote
Super User South FLA Posted May 2, 2013 Super User Posted May 2, 2013 Crazy down here in S. FLA, its as if we are in our Summer rainy season early. Quote
Trailer Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 77, 77, 83, 83, 73, 70, tomorrow 54, Saturday 58 High temps for the last few days Quote
Super User lmbfisherman Posted May 3, 2013 Super User Posted May 3, 2013 Yeah we've hit some nice warm weather here in Ontario and LOVING IT! I can take the kids now to fish with worms. Too bad I can't target "bass" officially, but I have caught my first out of season bass when I was fishing for Crappie last Sunday. I was surprised it was a bass, I was expecting a catfish the way it came in. Caught it on a gulp minnow. Suppose to stay warm for the next week too. Quote
GoTakeANap Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Cant complain to much here. Its been a steady 65 mid mornings and ends up 70-80 the last few days. Gonna be cloudy and rainy the next few days. Havent seen the sun in a few days from the clouds, but overall don't have much to complain about. Just throwing my 2 cents in. Hope it gets better for all of you with snow! I hate SNOW! Quote
Super User WRB Posted May 3, 2013 Super User Posted May 3, 2013 As the old saying goes "give it an hour, it will change". Enjoy the time you have and adjust to the weather, you can't change it unless you move Tom Quote

A buddy has mentioned wanting to fish the canal and I'm doing some scouting. Quote
JT Bagwell Posted May 3, 2013 Author Posted May 3, 2013 It might be better in other areas but I have put in at the ramp in Geneseo a few times and I was not even a little impressed. Most areas were less than 3' deep. I saw tons and tons of little Bass but that was about it. Quote
Basseditor Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 It's weird here in south-central Texas too. Maybe record lows next two nights. Low 40s or colder. Should be in the 80-90s this time of year. A couple of summers ago we had record number of days above 100. Quote
powerduster Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Its always windy but seems worse when its actually nice out. I can't wait for summer. Quote
