Gangley Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 I just purchased a bag of these in Junebug, and man are they HUGE. The fish lately have wanted something moving pretty fast, and so I wanted to try and swim these to see how they do. Has anybody else tried to swim them, and if so did you use a keel weighted hook, slip sinker, or were you able to go weightless? If you used a weight, what size weight did you use and how did it affect the drop rate and stability of the lure? Thanks for any and all information. Quote

Super User Raul Posted May 24, 2010 Super User Posted May 24, 2010 Heavier wire hooks help stabilize baits like the Rooster and the Eeliminator, one of the things Big O said when I inquired about the eeliminator was that he used super line hooks when rigging the eeliminator I didn 't use a super line hook when I tested mine, I used what I had at hand, regular wire 4/0 EWG hook and the bait kept spinning, after changing the hook for a super line hook ( heavy wire ) the problem of spinning disappeared when rigging the bait weightless. Gangley Posted May 24, 2010 Author Posted May 24, 2010 Ive read the info from the Rage site previously, and it was helpful, but I was really hoping to get actual experiance from various anglers to see what worked best for them. Thank you all for the great information. I use Owner and Gamakatsu hooks almost exclusively for frogs, swimbaits, and creatures. Quote

Thank you all for the great information. I use Owner and Gamakatsu hooks almost exclusively for frogs, swimbaits, and creatures. I have some experience with them and here's a couple of links that have a variety of discussion where use and technique was covered.... http://www.ragetail.com/ragetalk/index.php?action=search2 http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?action=search2 Hope this helps Big O www.ragetail.com Quote
