About 3 weeks ago I was catching my limit on crankbaits. Took all day, but I was catching em. Forward to yestetday, couldn't buy a bite. The C-rig I was using kept getting pecked, but no takers. I'm thinking its Bluegill. The water in the lake is dropping about 6 inches to a foot a week...someone told me the fish were on the beds...I know its about that time...not ALL the Bass should be on the beds though. There are some Bass that are too young to reproduce...I'm sure they aren't bedding. Skies have been sunny, air temps are in the high 80's low 90's and theres a constant breeze/wind that keeps shifting.. I've thrown to the windy banks...nothing. I've tried a C-Rig, Dropshot(got a few pecks ), and a DT-6 crankbait.Should I try a deeper crank in deeper water. What might have turned the bite off? Could the dropping water have anything to do with it? What about the Bluebird skies...I'm scratching my head trying to figure this out

What should I focus on to find the fish?

Tough time of year to get them to commit to one presentation. Your idea of changing it up till you find fish is good. You might want to see if the fish are suspending just off the first break close to spawning areas. Fast moving jb presentation might get them!!

Insert song "I've got love.....on my mind!"  Thats what they have playing in their minds

If you can't find them deep or shallow, and only getting short strikes, I would say that they are suspending.  Try either a jerkbait, A-Rig, throw flukes, or either a T-trig worm (weightless) or wacky rig senko type bait.  See if that produces for you.  Also if there is any weed lines, concentrate on those, or flip a jig into the weeds (if they are present) and see if you can get any to bite.  I've had good success here lately with the last one, either a finesse jig or a 1/2 ounce

I agree with Larry. If the water level in your lake is dropping consistently, the bass are probably suspending over deeper water to avoid being trapped in shallow water. They may move shallow when actively feeding and resume suspending when not actively feeding.
