Super User aavery2 Posted May 1, 2013 Super User Posted May 1, 2013 Should I get a okuma reflexion rod 7' MH/F for 60 on TW Fenwick HMX rod 7' MH/ MF for 90 on TW Any thoughts or preferences? Is MF to much bend for 1/2 oz jigs? Contact type baits are where sensitive rods really shine, get which ever feels the most sensitive to you. Jigs are typically fished on rods with a fast or xtra fast action. Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted May 1, 2013 Super User Posted May 1, 2013 i'd get a falcon bucoo 6-10 pitchin rod for 99$.far lighter than either of the other 2. Quote

MrSwimJig Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 I would look at the *** *** Black 7' 3" MH/F rod for jig fishing. Its a $100 at Tackle Warehouse and got a great review on Tackle Tour as well. It also comes in a 7' 1" length as well. Quote
Super User deep Posted May 2, 2013 Super User Posted May 2, 2013 Prefer fast or extra-fast tapers. P.S. Teal is spot on with his recommendation. Quote
The Young Gun Posted May 2, 2013 Author Posted May 2, 2013 PPowell Diesel Rod 49.00 7'MH on fish ranger I might buy this rod after looking it over.. Is it sensitive enough? I plan on throwing 1/2oz jigs on it with a abu Garcia black max 2 reel paired on it.. Quote
sarcazmo Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 What is your price range? Hard to beat the *** series as far as value goes. I'm using a Phenix recon 7'1 and its pretty great as well. Not sure its worth 75 more than an *** though. Quote
Super User Teal Posted May 2, 2013 Super User Posted May 2, 2013 Young gun, if you can cough up another 50, fish ranger has the endurance for 109.00. I use the 714 and its awesome, slightly under powered, it says heavy powerand rod, but its more like a mag MH but i like that because i use braid and it compensates for the lack of stretch. Very sensitive rod also. I like the length too. I also have a the Endurance 725, i use it for frogs and heavy topwaters, but it is also an excellent jig rod. That rod is a hoss, a very very strong rod. I dont have any experience with the Diesels, just alot of good reviews. Quote
