Super User slonezp Posted May 1, 2013 Super User Posted May 1, 2013 You're impatient You still have 3 weeks. This thread is in the wrong section. Needs to be in the Northeast section. I've never fished Clinton but there are IL guys who have. I'm sure someone will chime in Quote
JT Bagwell Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 I have fished 4 tournaments on Clinton Lake but it has been several years ago and I have had very different results. When the weather was kind of crappy I won both tournaments and when the weather was nice, I blanked both times. Both times I won I was slow rolling white spinnerbaits and fishing jigs around submerged wood in 4-8 feet of water. Most of my fish were caught in areas that I would call mid lake areas but more towards the warmer water end of the lake (divide the lake into thirds warm, middle and cold). That lake is really odd and full of places that just look awesome but just don't seem to hold fish. Hope that helps a little. Quote
fishinghunter96 Posted May 1, 2013 Author Posted May 1, 2013 Thanks man.glad jigs worked for you as jigs are my confidence bate. Any one else. 1 Quote
NILBasser Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 What tournament are you fishing? I will also be down there that weekend. I just fished a tournament there this past weekend and it was a tough go. Only got one keeper, 3.2, on a crank and 6 between 15 1/2 and 15 7/8ths on plastics. JT is right, some areas look perfect but you just won't catch them and others are great. Get out and fish is all I can tell ya until you find them. Quote
