Softest Fluorocarbon?

Anyone know what fluoro is the softest? My XPS is a nightmare on my baitcaster and I imagine a spinning reel would be pure torture. I won't be fishing around rocks or wood or any cover other than grass, so the abrasion resistance can be terrible to have better handling. Just looking for something to throw light baits on my spinning setup. Thanks.

Sunline sniper is pretty easy to get along with. They say Shooter is even better, but i havent tried. Besides, other than cranking rods and one worm rod, im pretty much all braid now.

Not a fluoro, but i recently bought a spool on Yo zuri hybrid and decided to test it out on one of my wifes spinning rods, and i love it. Soft, limp, easy to cast.

I have had good luck with Seaguar Invizx on spinning and Abrazx on baitcasters. If not around heavy cover on baitcast 12lb would work great, but the 12lb Abrazx would still be abrasion resistant.

 

And even better they are a sponsor on this site....and no I am not suggesting only because of this. All my combos have one of these two lines except two braid setups and one copoly for topwater baits.

If you're not in rock or wood, go with braid. Add a leader if you'd like.

Am waiting on some Sunline FC Finesse......supposed to be developed for spinning reels, therefore nice and castable. 

 

I've been very pleased with Sunline's Biwako Guide special.......excellent.

FC is generally courser and more wiry than Copoly's. Diameter is the important thing. FCs over 10# need a wide spool and even then it can "jump", and develop loops. I am careful to maintain proper tension on initial wind-up and am always checking for loops. This is even more important than with FC compared to Copoly's.

 

BPS tends to handle reasonably well for me. But again, diameter is the important factor. I have used FC up to 12lb on my spinning rigs. I did try 14lb FC on a BG15 (~3000 size) reel and it worked but was very course and even noisy going out the guides.

 

If you are having trouble, BPS in 6 or 8lb would probably work fine; You did say light spinning anyway. Vanish appears "softer' but doesn't seem to handle all that much diff for me. Berkley 100% has a higher diameter per rated break so if you go that route and want "8lb" you'll need to buy it in "6lb". In fact, bc of "the rating game" I purchase lines for various applications by diameter not rated break strength.

Invizx is soft and supple but at the expense of alot of stretch.  Still has good sensativity though.  Sniper and Shooter and stiffer and less stretchy and more sensative IMO..

Berkley 100% FC is good.

I run sniper FC and love it.

Tried P line and hated it.

#50 power pro braid on most of my stuff though.

Thanks for the input guys I think I'm just gonna run 20lb PP with a 17lb XPS leader.

If you are going with 17 flouro i would go with 65 pp, i run that with my 17 and 20 pound flouro. And 50lb pp for 12-15 lbs.
