endless Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Has anyone tried this before where you take the skirt off a chatter bait and use the chatter head on your swim baits? How did you like it? This is a video on the topic. Quote
Shad_Master Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 There are several guys in my local club who do this - I haven't tried it, but it does seem to work. Remember to get a good balance in your retrieve - fast enough to get the vibes going, but slow enought to get the fish interested. Quote
BassThumb Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Haven't yet on a chatterbait, but a paddletail swimbait/spinnerbait combo is a killer. Quote
BigBrotherThunda Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Whatever you do, dont put a skinny dipper behind a chatter head and throw it around weed beds instyaind water on windy days....just dont do it! Quote
Super User Tin Posted May 23, 2010 Super User Posted May 23, 2010 Whatever you do, dont put a skinny dipper behind a chatter head and throw it around weed beds instyaind water on windy days....just dont do it! Yes, this just does not work at all. You will waste hours with slimy creatures and your thumb will be all chewed up. Super glue the head of the dipper so you don't spend $20 a day. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted May 23, 2010 Super User Posted May 23, 2010 The Live Magic Shad is a popular addition to a Chatterbait. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted May 23, 2010 Super User Posted May 23, 2010 I tried using a 4" big hammer ..doesn't seem to work so well..I'll just tir on another skirt.. Quote
endless Posted May 23, 2010 Author Posted May 23, 2010 Seems like I really need to give it a try! Quote
Ol Dirty Basstard Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 You can use all sorts of trailers for a Chatterbait. Try a Super Fluke, Paca Craw or Swim Senko too. Quote
