So, I was fishing with my father on Lake Freeman around 6 years ago and we were fishing for catfish. We were in about 15 feet of water when I felt something pull on my line a little bit. I let the bait sit for a few seconds to see if I could get another bite. Nothing happened, being only 12 at the time I didn't know that I should reel it back in and check my bait. I left the bait in the water. About 4 hours pass and it's time to pack up. At this point we have been on the water since 6am(It was around 2pm). So, I reel in my bait and the line starts going crazy. My father yells "You got a fish!" I didn't believe him and said "You don't know what you're talking about." Typical response from a young "know it all" kid LOL. Anyways, I reel in my bait and behold a 1.2lb Bluegill was on my stinkbait. The bait was gone but the hook was past the gills of the fish. Just thought I would share this story with all of you!I have caught fish on bait that they weren't suppose to be caught on.

I've caught lots of bluegills on livers. We catch hybrids on cut shad and carp fishing for catfish a lot too. Some of the lakes we catfish with chunks of cutbait without weight and moving it almost like worm fishing for bass. Coincidentially we catch quite a few bass on chunks of shad and bluegill.
