Anyone know if you can swap the gears from an s to sx, both gen 3? The sx is 7:1 and s is 6:4:1. Is this possible to change the gear ratio of these and if so which gears to swap?

The short answer is no.     The explanation is that the Revo S uses a single piece spool shaft as compared to the SX which uses the Infini II spool design.  The length that the pinion gear must travel to enagage the spool shaft pin is different, so the pinion gears are not the same length.

Bummer. Oh well. One thing I've done though is swap the silver front on the sx with the black front on the s. The all black sx looks good. You can also order parts from other revo reels to change some color items.

An all black SX and STX would be killer. I have the S, SX and STX so if the parts aren't much I may do that to the SX and STX.

The black front piece for the s was like $7 the guy told me on the phone. If you have all the reels I would try swapping first before you buy. But yeah you can order any part from any reel as long as you have the right part number which you can even get online from the schematics.

I hate the chrome bits on reels. HATE. THEM. Probably order them for my SX and STX. The STX will look especially awesome with more black.

Does the MGX have a black thumb bar? I haven't really checked out the MGX enough to know.
