brushhoggin Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 So whats a strong wide gap hook thats of thinner gauge? i like the gammy superlines for fishing plastics within like 25 feet, but when i'm making long casts with a lizard for example to flooded brush, i need a smaller gauge to set the hook easier. i'm always paranoid i'm gonna catch a big un' thats gonna bend my hook out her mouth with these thin hooks so all i've bought recently are superlines and some of owners thicker wide gaps. but like i said i can't set the hook from far away with a hook that thick. i know using braid would pull more line on a hook set reducing the amount of effort, but I prefer fluorocarbon in this application. any suggestions to a righteous strong but thin wide gap ? thanks.
