chromedog Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 After mangling some braid last night, I am looking for a good line cutter that will cut everything and have no problems with braid. Toe nail clippers just don't cut it anymore. What do you guys use? Quote
BenBassmaster Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 I don't have it, but everyone that has told me about it has said the The Boomerang tool "The Snip" is the best cutter for braid. From what I have seen it cuts it really smooth and evenly; no matter what type of strength or line. Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted April 25, 2013 Super User Posted April 25, 2013 I use the BPS Braid Scissors. They are around $3.00 a piece so I have a few that I throw in various boxes or bags. They've worked just fine for me. Quote
TRYTOFISH Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 The Snip! best that I have found and all I use is braid. Quote
Hogsticker Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Just get a Boomerang snip - You won't regret it! Quote
chromedog Posted April 25, 2013 Author Posted April 25, 2013 Funny, I was just looking up fiskars. I remember when I was a kid, my dad told me fiskars will cut anything, and then he would steal my moms sewing fiskars. LOL Quote
Super User J Francho Posted April 25, 2013 Super User Posted April 25, 2013 Rub two zebra mussels together. That'll slice braid up for ya! 1 Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted April 25, 2013 Super User Posted April 25, 2013 The Boomerang Tool is awesome! Quote
backcast88 Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 A good pair of scissors is a good choice. But I personally use my Spyderco Delica 4. Keep it razor sharp and it will cut braid, mono, and fluoro very easily, just don't slip or you will need stitches. Quote
Hanover_Yakker Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 I highly recommend "The Snip" from Boomerang Tools, but a handy alternative is a pair of the Fiskars kid scissors - they cut through 65lb. braid without skipping a beat. I always have a spare pair in my dry box while on the water as well as the Snip in my PFD. I also have a spare Snip at home and a couple pairs of the Fiskars grade school scissors that I keep inside for when I am tying leaders or cleaning up line ties on lures preciously used after a trip. chromedog Posted April 25, 2013 Author Posted April 25, 2013 Ya, I had a razor knife I used. But was looking for something a little quicker and safer, lol. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted April 25, 2013 Super User Posted April 25, 2013 The fly shop in Bass Pro has these things called "hemo-scissors." They work great for braid. Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted April 25, 2013 Super User Posted April 25, 2013 Boomerang Snip here. Hootie Quote
mtaag3 Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Get EMT scissors. You can usually pic them up fairly inexpensively and they're EXTREMELY versatile. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted April 25, 2013 Super User Posted April 25, 2013 My kid's fiskars scissors. Quote
gramps50 Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 I have the Boomerang Snip and it works great. Keep it clipped on my belt loop whenever I am out fishing Quote
SudburyBasser Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Another vote for the Boomerang tool. A little pricey but it cuts braid like nobody's business. Quote
The Next KVD Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 I never had an issue with the scissors from WallyWorld that are 2 for $3. Just put some tension on the line and they will snip through braid just fine. 1 Quote
