Hey guys, Im going up to Berwick PA. (i southwest of Scranton) for a week for work in the next couple weeks. Anytime, i go out of town (all the time) for work, i always use google maps to see whats around the area im going to. I saw a river that runs through that town. And on this particular trip, ill be working at night as opposed to working during the day and i will have time for fishing (from the bank of course, cant take my boat with me)

Any info that can be given will be much appreciated.

Edit: found that it is the Susquehanna river,

You should be right in the heart of spawn/post-spawn.

Just go fishing, seriously. You may very well have a banner day.

Not sure when the closed season for targeting smallies is and if that is the area you will be fishing but it is worth looking into just to be sure.

if it is open you will have a lot of fun and probably have some great fishing.  I also know there is an outfitter down river in marysville that rents kayaks.  Looks like a little bit of a drive but i have fished that area from sunbury down to harrisburg and had some great rtips.

Do you have any free time at all when you are up here? Like enough for a day trip?

I wont really have alot of time, ill be over at the Nuclear Power Plant from 1 pm till mid night for 4 days.

Yall know any good areas off the top of your head where i can get pubblic access to the river...never been there so i dont know what to expect.

I dont have alot of room in my work truck, so im just gonna take 2 rods, 7'MH. Casting and a 7'ML spinning and a small box of lures.

Not a clue on specific spots in that area but it shouldnt be too difficult to find somewhere to access the river. Along it's whole stretch, it's not long until you are able to find a spot to fish.

Spinnerbait wouldnt be a bad idea either. I'm just partial to topwater this time of year in the river/tribs.

Spinnerbait/chatterbait is def what i was thinking.

Im just gonna pack a few jigs, few craws, spinner baits, chatterbaits, couple of square bills, and a few worm/senkos. Ill make sure i have a few sammies, poppers, and some super flukes and skinny dippers. Not gonna carry much... just enough to burn some time and maybe hook some fish...

I wish i did have a hole day...i would def rent a canoe or yak
