stkbassn Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 I was considering the new chronarch 50E or even another Citica 200E....maybe another REVO S.... Suggestions and opinions welcomed....thanks in advance! Quote
Super User J Francho Posted April 24, 2013 Super User Posted April 24, 2013 Out of those three, the 50e is designed for lighter baits. The other two are fine entry level, Al frame reels that will serve you well. Quote
Arv Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Yup, any one should be fine. Definitely like the 50 size Shimano reels though. Quote
Silas Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Chronarch 50E for sure! Or get you a Curado 50E for a little less. Quote
stkbassn Posted April 24, 2013 Author Posted April 24, 2013 Thanks for your input everyone. I'll probably stick with a Chronarch or Curado. Played around with the 50E at Sportsmans Warehouse and I am definitely impressed. Quote
EvanT123 Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 I like throwing light t-rigs on spinning but that's me. Weight less plastics like flukes a 50e can definitely throw them pretty darn good on a mh rod. 50e would be my choice out of the reels you listed. Quote
A-Rob Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 I actually use a Citica E for light t-rigs I can accurately cast and fish it all day I'm happy with it Would I switch to a curado E if I was offered a free one? Yep. Quote
TNBassin' Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 The Revo S is a steal at $129, though I'm not sure it would be the best choice for lighter baits nor would I call it "entry level". 1 Quote
Hogsticker Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Chronarch 50e would be my choice. You can also pick up a nib citica e for under a hundred and drop an avail spool into it for about the same cost. You might be surprised how well that reel will handle the lighter stuff with the spool upgrade and and some abec 5s Quote
catchnm Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Citica.......or if youre looking for a deal on a reel.....well made and durable with a 100% no-questions-asked store return policy.....try the H20 Xpress Meddle reel at Academy Sports. Ive tried to backlash the ones I have and while it can be done, it's quite a task. Light t-rigs are great on these reels. But like I said, it's the same for the Citica as well. I also have no problems throwing light stuff on my Curado 200E models. Quote
stkbassn Posted April 25, 2013 Author Posted April 25, 2013 Thanks for all of your input and suggestions guys! I really appreciate your time. Quote
Super User Darren. Posted April 25, 2013 Super User Posted April 25, 2013 Shimano 50e, Lexa 100 as well (I have and do throw light TX rigs, can throw a weightless 4 or 5" Senko on mine - not exceedingly far, but far enough to get it where I want it)... Quote
averagebass123 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 H20 mettle hands down is the best baitcaster i have ever used for light lures... heck, its the best reel i have ever used overall! It casts so far with any lure. I could probably cast weightless 4" senko about..... maybe 40 yards if i really tried. Oh- and its only $50. If that doesn't sound good to you, check out the crappie maxx baitcaster made by Basspro. Quote
