J-Salvati Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out these stubborn fish.. I'm fishing red dingy/muddy canals in South FL... The only thing i can get them to bite on is a wacky rigged stick bait in green with red flake and on a black jig. What else can i use to hook up with some more fish? The canals are moderately untouched with some rocks, weeds and some cover we made...Most of the fish are in the cover...If it helps we fish from a small boat(bass tender).. Any help is appreciated Quote
Gangley Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 if muddy wate then fish with something that produces a lot of vibration or flash. A chatterbait would be good, but try a KaRu Vibrashock if you can, its a great lure that is superior to your traditional chatterbait. Try a large colorado bladed spinnerbait as well to put out a large thump in the water. High vibration high visibility lures have worked great for me in muddy waters. Quote
SHIMANOFAN Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 I'm in Central Fl. and been having real good luck with spinners dark color w/large colorado blades in gold and either gold or silver w/ blue or black lipless cranks. Hope this helps. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted May 19, 2010 Super User Posted May 19, 2010 I would not under estimate the eyesight of a bass in muddy water,.........arkansas shiner fluke has been working well. My canals force me to fish weedless. Quote
J-Salvati Posted May 19, 2010 Author Posted May 19, 2010 Thanks, I bought some flukes a few days ago and forgot to throw 'em in the tackle box.. I'll try them tomorrow night when I fish the canal...I fished a black jig with a shaker this morning and hooked a 3.5lb'er and and then a 4lb'er... Then threw a black buzzbait n had 3 fish strike it..So i'm figuring them out... ;D Quote
