dollarbill Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 Do these high end lures really make a difference? Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted March 17, 2007 Super User Posted March 17, 2007 They do for me in only one aspect, confidence. If my mental game is on I feel like the battle is half over. Do they catch fish better, probably not, but don't tell my brain that. ;D ;D LOL!!! Quote
ejtaylor822 Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 Redlinerobert, thank you for siccing the bait monkey on me. ;D Went and checked out CLU. Those are some nice lures. Have always avoided the custom "boutique" lures because I can't see spending that kind of money on something that I am going to lose. But, after seeing those lures and reading about the company was hard to resist. I am a few miles from the Haw River and Lake Jordan in North Carolina mentioned on the site. Just placed an order for the Persuader 65 and Pit Bull - thought would be less likely to lose top water lures. This is why I avoid the equipment forums - the bait monkey is always lurking. Quote
Pa Angler Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 I added this one to my favorites looks good. Quote
FatBoy Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Very cool. These guys definitely have the best names out there....pit bull, vortex, lithium... But has anybody fished them yet. Let's here a review if you have, or as soon as you get them in. Quote

Let's here a review if you have, or as soon as you get them in. FatBoy, I soon as I get mine will let you know. Got an email back from the owner a few hours after placing my order - impressive responding that quick - stating that they are backed up right now more so than usual. So, it may be a while before I get mine. That's ok for me as I won't start hitting the cranks hard for another month or two. As soon as I have had a chance with them will let you know. Don't know if they will be better than any of the others, but, they sure will look good when they are in the tackle box. Will have a special place right up front for 'em. Eddie Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted March 20, 2007 Author Super User Posted March 20, 2007 I can't stop looking at these lures. Whether they work better or not, they are beautiful. Quote

kellure Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Hey fellas. 1st time on the site. What a wealth of info. This is Kelly at CLU. I've been getting a load of mails in the inbox from folks all over about a thread on here, so I decided to register and check in. Due to restraints on time, I'm not sure how often I'll get to stop in, but just wanted to say I appreciate ya'lls passion for tackle and fishing. Its an obsession for perfection on this end and I hope it shows thru in the lures, site and pictures. I saw a thread that Mattlures is on here, man what a talent he is! I need to have some of those beauties of his crafted for my own use. I'd like to say that I can answer everyone's ?'s about the lures and hopefully field some ?'s about their performance, however I'd probably make some patiently waiting anglers/customers mad if they saw I was posting long threads vs. crafting their goods. I can say they perform differently than what I call shelf lures. Thanks again, enjoy this site, a great resource no doubt...looking forward to finding time to read more. Gotta get back to work, take care. Kelly Quote
