TylerVC Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 I recently damaged the spool on my tournament speed spool (trying to remove the bearing on the spool shaft) and was in need of a replacement. I tried calling lews but their phones were busy, so on my way back to school I stopped by their headquarters in Springfield, Mo. I asked them how much a spool would cost and was told it would be $40. Then, the girl at the front desk had a reel tech come and look my reel. I showed him the spool and told him how I damaged it. He told me that he didn't think it was the spool and he would go take a look at it. He came back about 10 minutes later and gave me my reel with a new spool. My reel then felt good as new. I thanked him and he started walking off. I stopped him and asked how much I owed them and he told me nothing. Thank you lews for the excellent customer service, especially since I am currently strapped for cash. 3 Quote

flippin and pitchin Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 It's nice when you are a VALUED customer. Tell the dealer who sold you the reel. Quote
MrSwimJig Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Lews customer service is top notch all the way. Quote

Capt.Bob Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Yes it is!!!! Last year I called rick after loosing a yoke return spring and letting him know since I service reels I ought to have a couple spares as the older these eyes get when I drop something I usually loose it, till I don't need it any more then I find it. His reply was no problem, and said we have your address in the data base don't we, when I said yes all he asked was where I was calling from and said I'll get you a couple right out. I asked if he wanted a credit card and his reply was the the same, not necessary he would get them right out!! These folkes are here to please, and there popularity shows it in every poll I have seen lately. Like I said in my thread the big two better wake up, there is a new company in town and they are taking anglers by storm!! Shimano used to be that way with small parts, but even their friction rings that they know are high replacement parts, the times they are a changing!!! Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted April 23, 2013 Super User Posted April 23, 2013 Their customer service is excellent. I purchased a BB1Z*** from a seller on ebay and after one outing the rubber coating started peeling on one of the paddle handles. Never had this on any of my other Lews reels including BB1 models so I called Lews and explained what was going on. She took all my info and I received a new handle in the mail shortly after. No questions asked,no money exchanged. This is why I stand strongy behind them. Not only do you receive a great product at a fair price but they will take care of you even after the sale, from them or not. Quote
wperry Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 I haven't needed service yet, but I bought two new Tournaments this year and took them on a guided trip to Okeechobee last month. The pro I was with tried one and said Lews would be his next reel purchase. Coming from a pro who has tried them all says a lot. I have one of almost everything, but use the Lews most of the time now. I fish mostly inshore saltwater so we'll have to see about corrosion. Quote
Blues19 Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Im thinking I may get one next year. Got a Revo S this year. Its gonna be hard to pull away from the Revos. but I hear ALOT of awesome stuff about the Lews Quote
