Dobyns Or Fitzgerald ?

Hey y'all gunna buy a casting rod here soon been looking at theses two brands seeing if anyone could give me more info on them or your suggestion, looking to spend around 150 to 200 on a rod for jigs and Texas and Carolina rigs Any info or suggestion would be appreciated

Not sure about the fitz rods, but dobyns is well respected.

Powell Endurance, St. Croix Avid, St. Croix Rage, Duckett, Shimano Crucial, are all well respected rods that are going to give you a high level of performance.

Expand your list, you'll use all of your $200 on the Fitzgerald and the only Dobyns you'll get is the Savvy line and while it isn't a bad rod you can do a lot better in the same price range as the Savvy's doesn't have a real crisp feeling blank for the price range.

Or wait about a month and you can probably get a Dobyns champion series on sale at TW or some other website on the memorial day sale.

I plan to slowly switch all my rods to Dobyns even if I have to pay extra to get them in Canada. They are the only rods I will buy without handling. I like that balance is a priority, they still use full grip cork and ecs reel seats. Like others have mention, look around for a used champion. They go for 150-180 range used.

Wait until tackle warehouses sale on Memorial Day for Dobyns, I currently have 5 dobyns champs and champ extremes and I love every single one of them, I know that on the next sale theres a dobyns champ extreme and shimano core with my name on it:)

Hey, here's a tip back to you after you informed me of the Dobyns dealer online.  Fishing World in Hamilton Ontario is a Dobyns dealer and they have better deals than the site you sent me.  I didn't pull a trigger on the Dobyns there, instead I went for the Cumara and GLXs.  They are also great guys to speak with to boot and have given me good deals on the 4 rods I bought from them.  Should check it out. 

 

I still might go for a Dobyns Crankbait rod, still up in the air about it though.  I might just go for a Mojo..still debating, but I'm in no hurry.

thanks so much for all the repiles back i was going to order a rod tonight because im going this weekend to fish lake anna in Va so i wanted to buy a rod this week to have it for the weekend! but i might just have to wait

I have a Dobyns Champ for crankbaits, I love it. I also have rods less than half of that I love as well. Whatever works for you.

If you buy a dobyns go champion or higher.

x2 on the Dobyns Champ or higher. At the 150 - 200 I'd look at a Powell, Phenix or Duckett. Cant speak about a Fitzgerald.

I have 4 Dobyns Savvy rods. Not a Dang Thang wrong with them. I also have a Champion.
