Was wondering if anyone else had this problem with Megastrike? The problem I encountered was a clogged opening in the tube. I would squeeze to get more attractant, but none would come out. I tried piercing the hole, enlarging the hole...still nothing. This tube wasn't cold, and had been sitting in 60 degree sun.

I got fed up and decided to slice the side of the tube open to figure out the issue. The problem wasn't with the tube, it was with the attractant itself. There are some solid particles in the attractant, well it seems like a lot of the solids got together and just totally solidified. I pulled the pea sized mass out and attempted to squeeze it to break it up and smear on my bait...NOPE!! This was the same color and consistency as a piece of Root Beer Barrel Hard Candy...rock solid...so needless to say, one tube of Megastrike went in the trash. Not really bad mouthing the stuff, i love it and will continue using it...just be aware that if you have trouble getting the Megastrike from the tube, this is likely the reason why.

I would have contacted megastrike about this problem. I'm sure they would take care of you. Posting on a forum without giving any company a chance to rectify the situation just isn't cool in my book.

Yeah, you are....

Did you contact Bobby? Perhaps the guy that came up with the stuff just "may" have encountered the problem in the past.

What's up with this post? First of all I have never heard of such a thing and have

been using MegaStrike since it was invented. Secondly, Bobby has often stated

that ALL MegaStike products are GUARANTEED. So he will replace the product

or refund your money. However, he can't help you if you don't ask.

Everyone already beat me to the punch.  Reach out to Bobby @ Megastrike.  He stands behind his product.

I understand he stands behind his product...if I was really THAT concerned about getting it replaced I would have already got in contact with him.I asked the question because I know a lot of people here are Megastrike users and just wanted to know if anyone had a similar experiece. If I was truly bad mouthing this product, I would have said that I never intended to use it again...however...I have more tubes of it and I continue to use it. I really like the stuff and it appears I just got a bad batch...no ill will or feelings toward Bobby or his product.

You still didnt say whether or not you contacted Bobby about the issue.

If you were only looking to see if others had the same issue, I believe your title could be worded very differently.

Ok so I contacted Megastrike, spoke with Bobby himself. Explained the situation to him. It was a great discussion and for those that have never spoken to or done business on a personal level with him, he's VERY approachable...

The issue I see in this post is in the context. It can get lost in text, its a lot better to be able speak to a live person where conviction and emotion can be understood. Bottom line is that I never intended to badmouth the product, I'm sorry if it came across that way. Ill just be over here in the corner eating my humble pie.

To answer your question specifically then ... I never had an issue with a tube of Megastrike.

But yet you came on a public board and posted it?

No product in the history of man kind is flawless. When he says he will buy back the product if your not satisfied, he means its. One phone call and you would have a new tube

It really wasn't my intention to get a new tube...

Glad you reached out to Bobby and he stood behind his product.  He's a great guy with a strong integrity.

To answer your question: no, I have never had such a problem, and I've been using the product for years.  The biggest issue I've had is quite the opposite - the formula turning to liquid if I accidentally leave it out in the summer sun for too long. LOL!

It can get a little thick on a cold day.  But not so bad it's ever blocked up on me.

Slight tangent here, but I picked up a tube of the crawfish megastrike and have been using it, but was wondering if I'm supposed to be able to smell it or just the fish? It seems to be working as I've been having a great spring so far. Just noticed it's "odorless" at least to me.

I dont take issue with your post at all. You posted about an issue gave a heads-up basically on what might be the cause of a plugged tube. Now if that issue were to arise with one of my tubes I know now not to cut it open but to poke a screwdriver or whatnot in the opening to free obstruction. THANK YOU

Its no different than a rod breaking the first time used youll get it fixed/replace yeah but it still broke and no reason not to post that it broke. You have a plugged tube post about it.

I have been having a problem with Megastrike, for years now. Every time I break out a tube and smear some on my soft plastic, I cant keep the fish from trying to eat it. I'm at my wits end, I mean, I like the stuff and all, but this cant be right. Perhaps I should contact Bobby as well.   :rolleyes7:

So the conundrum is: post on a message board you frequent to see if anyone has ever had this issue and the people on here are only here to discuss fishing stuff

or

Contact the company to ask a question.

As far as I have seen from internet folks, it is a lose lose situation. Had he contacted Mega Strike first, he is wasting the guys time when he could have done exactly what he did (or done a google search). Instead, he chooses to ask around first and gets lambasted by (some of) you guys. He made clear that he was not knocking the product as well as stating that he would continue to use it.

Sheesh, relax you guys. The internetz are far too srs biziniss.

Sometimes it's easy to have your post mis-interpreted on here. I've had it happen a few times myself. With me, it's my goofy sense of humor. It's best to not be offended, and move on. I have found the folks on this forum to be very forgiving anyway. For the record, I read your post, and didn't see anything wrong with it. After reading the next few posts, I went back and re-read your post to see if I had missed something. Still didn't see anything wrong. Oh well, that's all I've got.

Simple, thanks for the heads up. If I do encounter a problem, I know I can talk with Bobby to fix said problem. THE END. As stated by a_a, no ill will was stated or intended, at least I didn't take it that way.

Is it a rule of thumb to only put this stuff on soft plastics? Seems like a dumb question and I probably just answered it myself in my head, but how do scent enhancers work? Does it infuse with the soft plastics or just stick to it better? If I put it on a rattletrap, per say, would it just slide off?

In my experience with megastrike attractant the first 30 dab from a newly bought tube is brownish yellow then after that its clear like vaporizing chest rub.

Today, idk but i was bed fishing with a zoom lizard and the bass nibble on it that have megastrike attractant on it and didnt come back to hit it as advertise youtube. Perhaps it wasn't hungry or was provoke by it only? Can sanybody explain this?

The only problem I have with megastrike is that it's not made exclusively for me, and me only.

Yep I've never had a problem with it at all. As Glenn said, it DOES melt in high temperatures in the sun, so I keep it in a cooler. If it melts, all you have to do is shake it up really good, then stick it in the freezer for just a couple minutes. Problem solved.

I don't think there is a rule of thumb.  In addition to soft plastics and jig trailers, I have applied it to lipless crankbaits, spinnerbaits, etc.  It sticks pretty good for awhile before washing off.

I lube up big swimbaits with it, hard or soft plastic.  If I'm slow cranking a deep diver, I'll lube it up too.  Jig skirts, spinner bait, and buzz bait skirts get it too.
