Hello, my name is Justin Dale Weirich and I have been fishing largemouth bass for the last three years. I been getting better and better at it over the years, and I am at the point where I need help to further my dream of making a career out of fishing. I am looking for those who can or could help me with this or push me in the right way of this dream. I manly fish city lakes because I don't have a lot of money to go to some of the better lakes in Nebraska. lately I have been fishing standing bear lake, which is my eyes and many others eyes, is a very hard place to fish, just the other day, I caught my biggest bass. 6lb 13oz at 23 inchs. which is a pretty big bass for the nerbaska area. I been catching a lot of 5lb bass this year also. I manly use jigs, texas rigs and spinners now days but I also know how to fish crank baits and a lot more. so if you are of any help, please let me know what I can do. please and thank you.

Re-read this out loud. Check for grammar and spelling errors.  Also make sure you capitalize the state and the name of the lake.  These are just a few things to redo.  I am sure you will get a few other pointers from other members as well.

Yeah I would rewrite this cover letter. To be honest, it is difficult to read and understand what point you are trying to get across.

Work on creating a résumé as well as this cover letter is only one small, piece to the puzzle....

If you are young, definitely have an adult help you out with a cover letter. Difficult to understand what you are trying to say.

There are over 300 topics on this forum.  I would suggest you start reading them to find out what suggestions are being offered to fishermen hoping for sponsorship.  As you will soon learn, it's a tough road, and your initial post is certainly not going to make it easier for you.

yeah I know I have horrible grammer, also have. it is caused by my brain illness, so its hard for me to think straight. I am 20 years old. I work at cox cable, as sales. I been fishing all my life but this is the three year of nothing but bass fishing. like everyone tells me this is the place for help. I don't need the help catching the fish, just the help of makings something out of this dream I have had since I was a kid.

Not a problem dude.  Just make sure you get others to read and re read and re read again all of your information.  Just make sure you are involved in determining the content.  Not everyone is a great writer and even fewer are good at writing resumes because you generally don't write them to often.

Just keep at it and I am sure most people here will be willing to help out wherever possible.

Have you fished any tournaments? If you havent, you need to find a club near you and start there. It's pretty hard to get a sponsor without competing. Companies aren't looking for weekend anglers. They are looking for someone that can sell their products at tournaments and shows. Also what are you expecting to get out of a sponsor?

Since you posted this to try to get a sponsor you might want to change your profile picture too.  The one with you and your girl touching tongues probably isn't going to appeal to any companies.

If you're presenting yourself here, maybe think about changing your avatar out to something a little more professional or just you. If I was a company seeking out prospects and saw that picture, I'd probably never look back.  I'm not knocking your image in anyway personally, but for a professional approach it's not the best to represent yourself.

Just a general comment.  There are millions of fisherman in this country, and a large percentage o them would "like to get a sponsor,"  the thing you need to figure out is why would a sponsor "like to get you?"  Everyone has or can have specific traits and skills that give them some value to a company, they key is either figuring out what those are, or developing them.  Once you get that figured out, you'll waste a lot less time for yourself, and for the companies you're pursuing.

get rid of that offensive and appauling picture, if you expect anyone, much less a bait company to take you seriously.

keep it classy.
