Super User roadwarrior Posted April 23, 2013 Super User Posted April 23, 2013 Gosh...Looks like I may embark on the journey down this slippery slope. So, I have four rigs to consider replacing. Please tell me the model you recommend and your estimate of the improvement in sensitivity, like 10%, 20%, etc. GLX MBR 844C BCR 854 BCR 893 St. Croix Legend Elite LES70MF (spinning rod) Also, before I put these in the Flea Market, let me know if you are interested in the rods at 70% of msrp. Super User deep Posted July 3, 2013 Author Super User Posted July 3, 2013 NRX is still awesome. Felt this freshwater snail chewing on the line- the line, not the bait- the other day with about 50 ft of line out. Didn't know what it was, so I set the hook. The snail is hanging on to the line; it's shell clamped shut around it. 15# Tatsu. Quote
Quitlimpin Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 That is crazy, but I can totally believe it. The NRX line is absolutely electric. Try fishing a chatterbait on one. It'll knock your fillings out. Quote
Super User aavery2 Posted July 3, 2013 Super User Posted July 3, 2013 I have fished for a very long time and used any number of rods over the years. I can say without a doubt that the NRX is without a doubt the finest rod I have ever used. I prefer the 853,mine is paired with a Core 100 and 12lb Tatsu. Quote

I own GLX 894, 854 and 853...I was going to get a longer 3 power for deeper water, but I find the 853 not too bad at 20'. Which is the normal depth I usually fish regularly. Not sure yet..oh heck hate it when I can only buy 1 more. Quote
