This morning at 8:30 will be our first meeting with the surgeon. My whole entorauge will be with me. I hardly slept at all, maybe an hour and a half. I woke bathed in sweat. This is going to be a long day. Once again , I truly appreciate the support of folks who really don't even know me. Thank you , thank you.

For those of you interested, my wife has set up a page to keep everyone informed of our progress. It is on a site called "caring bridge". If you go there and type in ........stitchlanier..........( no spaces )  our page should come up. This will make things much easier for her than trying to keep our whole family and everyone individually updated................Be aware that that site asks for donations, please disreguard that on my account..........Thanks once again for all your support and thoughtful wishes........if you care to be alerted by email of new posts there, PM us your address..............Kit can add it to her list. ....................Have  great day, all. May God bless.

Hello ,everyone. I thought I'd give an update. Last Friday was my first chemotherapy. I had no idea what to expect. The process took a little over four hours. Upon exiting the hospital, I immediately felt tingling in my fingertips and had to put my hands into my pockets to protect them from the chilly wind. Saturday I felt pretty well. I went to town and did my normal amount of weekend running around. We attended afternoon Mass then went directly to my youngest grandson's birthday party. About 9PM I was exhausted. Sunday morning I awoke nauseous and extremely tired. I paid for Saturday's activity. Memorial Day brought a repeat of Sunday. I was the family anchor over the weekend. This morning I feel a little better. My wife and I are planning on going to the mall for a couple hours when she returns from work. Food doesn't taste good. I've noticed that I've dropped 6 pounds since Friday morning. Hopefully these side effects will diminish soon. Thanks again for all the prayers and good wishes for my family. You folks are the best!

I believe I now feel well enough to get my boat in the water this week. Hopefully I can do some "therapeutic fishing".  I still have to catch a fish this year on one of the jigs that  A-Jay sent me . :eyebrows: .................Apparently, two days after chemo will be my mistake day...................next session of that will be on the 14th. Once again, I thank all of you for your continued thoughts and prayers. You really can't imagine how much they are appreciated by my whole family. Take good care everyone. May God bless.

The second session of chemo is tomorrow. I have a meeting with the oncologist beforehand. I'm hoping I cope as well this time. Not looking forward to this weekend. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers, folks. You can never have TOO MANY prayers.

Another set of tests tomorrow at 6 am. A pet scan and CT scan plus another stop for blood work. I'm hoping the Oncologist gives us good news. If so, surgery could be scheduled. Feeling tired along with all the heat and humidity have gotten me down. I'll try and keep updating the progress.

X2, hang in there.  Flowers, balloons, and a get well soon card for you.

Jeff - we don't have any "Get Well soon" icons available on this forum....   Anything you can do about that???

I will see what I can do!

OK, long enough.  What are the results?

Oh. Ok. I am just thinking about him and keeping him in my prayers. Guess I will wait a little longer.

Well the results are in. The chemo has not eliminated the cancer but has shrunk it a good deal. My surgeon is leaving his practice up here to return to his southern roots. Since he's in the top 1% that does this surgery, this was a blow to us. He now wants to do the operation this Wednesday. It's going to be hectic getting all my bodily prep done by Tuesday evening. Please keep the prayers coming. Thanks ,everyone
