Super User Felix77 Posted December 17, 2013 Super User Posted December 17, 2013 Great news! Merry Christmas Quote
Super User bigbill Posted December 18, 2013 Super User Posted December 18, 2013 Stitch that's awesome I'm glad for you and your family. You kicked it's butt like I told you, I knew you would. God bless, bigbill Merry Christmas it's going to be a special merry Christmas for you and your support group. All the support with prayers did work here. The guys and gals here are awesome. Remember to get a prostate exam and a blood test guys its starting to be more common. You gals know what you need to have checked too. My misses had breast cancer twice after a double mastectomy. But the second time was the cure. In any case early detection is the key to curing it. Please see your doctor for normal check ups. I like my family on this forum too. I have a wicked pain in my lower left hand side of my back. I seen a sports medicine guy and he said I have arthritis in my left hip really bad. Well I guess I grow older with it. I don't care if I have to get a hoveround with a shelf for my tackle boxes with a rod holder nothing is going to keep me from bass fishing. Quote
Super User Nitrofreak Posted December 18, 2013 Super User Posted December 18, 2013 Thoughts and prayers for your continued success and recovery , much love and respect for you and your family , God bless ! Quote
Topwaterspook Posted December 18, 2013 Author Posted December 18, 2013 The doc said I could start going back to the gym if I was extremely cautious. I just came from there..................IT'S NAPTIME !!!! 2 Quote
Super User bigbill Posted December 21, 2013 Super User Posted December 21, 2013 I just came from a doctor's visit, I'm at 325# now and still losing slowing now. I kind of level off, drop weight, level off. I'm thinking of hitting the gym after the holidays. I need to lose another 70lbs. Slowly a little at a time now. I want to be in better shape by bass fishing season. I took too much weight off too soon in the beginning. I messed up my medication dosage. After getting off some meds and adjusting some others I'm ok now. My one frozen waffle for breakfast and my half sandwich for lunch and court by down my supper to 1/3 or 1/2 my normal supper did the trick. I still eat less for supper so I'm losing it slower. I'm around 1200 calories per day rather than being at 2,000 calories like the doctors say. Then the weight seems to just fall off. I do have my free days sometimes too. Christmas will be two free days, Christmas eve and Christmas dinner. But I still will be careful and eat a little bit of everything. Now I'm rid of the cancer and I'm sure we can beat anything now. One day at a time. I have a cpap machine for the past few years and they just found out it wasn't set high enough. My heart doctor told me it wasn't set right. I had a test done again and the doctor was right. I was going to bed tired and waking up tired. Now I'm feeling much better with the higher setting. I feel more awake now. So much for health problems. I can't wait for this year to end. God bless, bigbill Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays..... Quote
Topwaterspook Posted December 22, 2013 Author Posted December 22, 2013 Hang in there , Bill. You're making progress, I'm praying for you. I agree, I'll be glad to see 2013 pass. First I'm going to relish every moment with all the kids and grandchildren. It'll be loud and hectic but that is some of the "small stuff" I've learned to overlook. Merry Christmas. Enjoy every moment. We've come a long way, Bill. Quote
Super User bigbill Posted December 22, 2013 Super User Posted December 22, 2013 Stitch were truly blessed right now we made it thru all the mile stones to Christmas brother and In looking beyond now brother were golden. Just when things looked dark and gloomy for us the brightness of our Lord and savior came though and blessed us and gave us a second chance. We caught the football of life and we have to run with it. My point is to set new goals and go for the gusto of what life has to offer us. Don't forget our awesome support group here and at home. My big thanks to all of them. Don't forget to hug them all everyday, tell them you love them everyday. Now just go out and enjoy life "everyday". Our creator listened and took care of us. God bless, bill 1 Quote
Super User bigbill Posted December 24, 2013 Super User Posted December 24, 2013 Don't forget the awesome foods tonight and the homemade pasta and prime rib roast tomorrow. Oh God I have to put up smelling all this stuff cooking. Yep a smaller sized dish will help this year maybe. Quote
Topwaterspook Posted December 24, 2013 Author Posted December 24, 2013       I had a wonderful ,early Christmas present. Yesterday, My oldest grandson and I spent the day at the Heinz History Center. He likes history, especially Civil War era exhibits. He's growing into a young man and is a pleasure to spend time with. Merry Christmas, Bill, to you and your loved ones.                                                                                                                                                                        Stitch Quote
Super User bigbill Posted December 24, 2013 Super User Posted December 24, 2013 Our grandsons and granddaughters if you have any yet, I don't have granddaughters yet. But my point is I haven't seen the grandson in a while Once he was as tall as the lighted Santa. Now he's a head taller than santa. They grow so fast now is the fun time to spend with him. He's asking me to take him fishing already. I purchased him a short rod with a spincast reel. He also has a 5' rod with a spinning reel too. I hope he breaks the record for lmb. Merry Christmas, gotta go I smell my stromboli cooking already. Tonight we party, tomorrow is the feast, on Thursday it's why did we eat so much. I love the holidays for the gatherings and foods but it's so commerical in some ways. Enjoy happy holidays if that works too. I'm going to have my first drink in fourty years with my son. Quote
KyakR Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013  We caught the football of life and we have to run with it. Amen. No one ever said it better  Quote
Super User bigbill Posted December 31, 2013 Super User Posted December 31, 2013 We made it!!!! In a few days we made it to next year. We need to make plans. Resolutions? Any? Mine are to fish and fish more. I need to wear out all my new stuff. The new state record LMB has eluded me long enough. I've done some thinking while I was ill, and corrected my weak points. Now I'm ready to move forward and getter done. With anything we need to believe in ourselves and we can overcome and conquer anything. I'm playing the hand that our creator has dealt me. I was always "lucky" at poker. Always remember it's skill in bass fishing. It's time to plan the future now. New motorcycle? New boat? Other options? We need to get out of the break down lane and get in the center lane now. Where's it's not too fast yet not too slow. Stitch are you hearing me brother? God bless, bill My hats off to the people at the cancer center too. They really know there job. Having the radiation now I know what a piece of meat feels like in a microwave. Just kidding it keeps me going, I crack myself up. The gals there treated me awesome. I need to bring them gifts soon. I'll do a grab bag with watches this week. Quote
Topwaterspook Posted December 31, 2013 Author Posted December 31, 2013 I do hear you, Bill. Plans for the year......?? to appreciate my life, To rebuild my body, to fish more, to break my PBs for smallies and DD largemouth, to be the person my grandchildren believe I am. To let go of old grudges. To do more charitable work. May God bless us all. 1 Quote
Super User bigbill Posted December 31, 2013 Super User Posted December 31, 2013 Your right it's time for me to relax, sit back and just enjoy what life has to offer. I will relax when I'm not riding. "NOT" nope that's not me. It's time to get a new motorcycle and burn the tires off that baby. It's all about being one with the machine. I need to workout and get back in shape too. I need to get back in the fast life. Bill I can hardly walk with my mistake knees but when I throw a leg over the seat on a motorcycle a switch gets switched. The pain disappears and the adrenaline takes over. I miss taking the family on hikes in the woods When the kids were small I could carry all three of them in my arms. I can't do that today there all adults. I still love them just the same. My point is riding dirtbikes and quads got me back in the woods enjoying nature at its finest hours. About a decade ago my balance was awesome. My problem today I'm a tad wobbly. It's been getting better as the readjust my meds to my weight loss. I was able to get off some meds and reduce others. I'm getting a little better. Charitable work has been on my mind too. I want to help the kids who are sick. I been giving to the Ronald McDonald house too where the child is sick they help the parents have a place to stay for free. Think about it? If everyone of us puts the coins from our purchase just how much all of us added up could help. At this point in my life it's going ok and life's been good to me. I feel it's time to give back and help in someway to help someone else out. Quote
Topwaterspook Posted December 31, 2013 Author Posted December 31, 2013 Ronald MacDonald Houses are great. We have one near Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh. We have some personal knowledge of lodging they provide for the families of sick children. The one charity I've decided to support more is St. Jude's Hospital. It is focused on children with cancer. That just breaks my heart. Â I wish you a wonderfully Happy New Year filled with only good things. Quote
Super User Oregon Native Posted December 31, 2013 Super User Posted December 31, 2013 Daughter has fought the cancer fight for seven years. She too gives things to doctors and nurses. Candies, bread and fresh cookies are her specialty. She can't eat...but she does share her talents. Keep up the fight and catch a big un. Quote
Super User bigbill Posted December 31, 2013 Super User Posted December 31, 2013 It's a good to give back even a little will add up and help others in there time of need. We as individuals can really make a difference in someone's life. We're also letting them know that there not alone and someone cares. It's like my 3 1/2yo grandson when I show him a new toy. His face lights up and he says is that for me? At that point grandpa wants to give him the world. I'm so blessed to see things in the different way more so than I seen before. Life is good. God bless, Bill Happy New Year. And I hope all your new year resolutions come true. Quote
Topwaterspook Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 I just got back home from an appointment with my oncologist. We all left that room with smiles on our faces.  It'll be two months before our next appointment..........................heck ,I'm trying to get him to come fishing with us. 1 Quote

Super User bigbill Posted February 12, 2014 Super User Posted February 12, 2014 Great, Awesome news Stitch I told you we would make it while the path wasn't on a paved road we both did make it to our goals. My blood test cancer rating went from 8.0 PSA/Gleason score before radiation to 0.2 after radiation to 0.04 this past week. We're going to make it stitch we did it with the help from our forum members here and there prayers and support. I still have back pain that comes and goes but I had it for years. Just waiting a few weeks now for that first few casts to see how these new US Reel super caster spinning reels workout. If I can get 25' farther out from shore I'm golden. I need a row boat, a new Harley, a new cabin at my camp. I have a lot of fishing and hunting to catch up on besides riding. Life is good finally. I'm going to fish 24/7, that new state record has been on my line twice now the third time is the charm. I'm not rich money wise but I'm rich when it comes to support from my family and the support from you gals and guys here. My support group couldn't get any better. Thanks for all your support in our time of need. Bill Quote
