Hello everyone. I joined the site a week or two ago, and have already learned a great deal. I have very limited bass fishing experience (mostly in farm ponds), and I just bought my first bass boat (but not my first boat). I grew up boating on the Potomac and Chesapeake, and did quite a bit of fishing there.

Now that I've aged quite a bit, and given up most of my more physically challenging hobbies, I'm really excited about bass fishing. I am anxious to learn and improve on this new hobby of mine, and I'm sure glad I found this site. I look forward to joining in on some of the discussions.

Should have added that my name is Mike. I have a 14 year old daughter that I could never get interested in hunting, but she loves to fish with Dad. That's one of the main reasons I decided to go all-in on fishing.

I am married, and in addition to the aforementioned daughter, I also have 28 year old twins, and 3 grand-children. My son is in the Army, stationed in S. Korea with his wife and 3 kids. My oldest daughter lives in Charlotte. Now you know about all of the particulars.

Thanks, I did see that the local members are planning a casual tournament next weekend at Melvern. I thought about coming, but I haven't even had the boat in the water yet (or broke in the motor), so not sure I'm ready. I will check out the blog and fishing reports.
