I have 2 Calcutta TE's and 4 older silver models. I am sending them out to be cleaned. I am going to have the bearings upgraded in the silver Calcuttas, will it benefit me to have them upgraded in my TE's?

I'm not sure but the stock factory bearings in your TE's are a good quality bearing to start with. The upper end reels already have good quality componets so an upgrade might not be very noticable. Yes on the silver ones maybe not on the TE. Ask your service guy what his recommendation is.

My first suggestion is to flush and properly lube stock bearings. This will give the greatest performance increase for the least investment. If bearings need replacing anyway, I usually opt for a better quality one.

The other reason to upgrade bearings is from an enthusiast standpoint, similar to a performance exhaust on a motorcycle etc.
