Osprey39 Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 What do you guys like to use for trailers on these baits. I like to use Berkley Power Frog trailers for swim jigs but I can't find anything I like for spinnerbaits. Looking for some suggestions. Quote
RandySBreth Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Kalin's 5" grub, matched to the color of the lure. My favorite. 8-) Quote
River Rat316 Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 for swim jigs I usually use a 5" grub (action plastics work well) or a paddle tail of some sort. For spinnerbaits I try not to have a trailer but when I do it is a action plastics 5" grub in a complimenting color Quote
Chris Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 spinnerbait-twin tail grub, pork chunk, swim chunk, twin curl tail. swim jig-pork chunk, swim chunk, twin curl tail, curl tail Quote
bmadd Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 When I fish a spinnerbait I usually don't use a trailer. When I fish my swim jigs I usually use a twin tail grub from Kalins or Yamamoto. Quote
adclem Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 I like a 3 inch or 4 inch Kinami single tail grub on both. Later, Quote
ib_of_the_damned Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 I usually do not use trailers, I use the skirts that have extra length at the end, like what War Eagle spinnerbaits use. I always use a trailer hook though. If I were to use a trailer it would be a single tail grub. Was thinking recently what a ZOOM tiny fluke would look like as a trailer on a spinnerbait without the skirt.... I might give that a shot. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted May 11, 2010 Super User Posted May 11, 2010 When I use a trailer on a spinnerbait I use the back half of a paddle tail like the RI Skinny Dipper. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 I dont use much trailers for spinnerbaits... But for a swim jig its ALWAYS a Rage Craw!!! Quote
Fish-r Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 For my spinnerbaits I have been using the 3' berkley grubs(the small ones) Quote
Redhed Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 just recently caught a 7.5lb bass and a 9.35lb bass in the same day on a stanley spinner bait in bream color. great lure. gold leaf btw. let her bounce and knick the bottom slowly retreive. tick tick boom! Quote
CRFisher Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 3 inch grubs for spinnerbaits. I like using some sort of paddletail for swimming jigs, although I don't swim jigs very often. I'll also use 5" or 6" grubs on swim jigs. Quote
