I currently have a pair of St. Croix Avid baitcasting rods..one 7ft, AVC70MHF  and one 6`6,,,AVC66MHF.. They are good rods,,but I guess I am the type who wants to keep trying other rods. So how bout some suggestions on what may be a better rod?

The Legend Tournament, legend elite, legend xtreme to keep it in the st. croix family. Dobyns Champion Extreme, G loomis glx/nrx. List can go on and on from a personal standpoint. "Better" is a very relative term. Some are just fine with avids, as they should be. they are good rods.

If they are still in good shape, why buy more? The past few years I would buy stuff "just to buy stuff", and I have finally taught myself to buy out of need only now. If I see something that I "just gotta have", I try to wait a few days and see if I REALLY need it. Most of the time, I don't. Just my opinion.

What is your budget?

The Avids are good rods, the only thing personally I'd get would be a 7' MH for a more versatile rod.  Depending on your budget and wanting to upgrade, I would give the same suggestions.

Personally own Cumara, Crucial, Aetos and GLX.  Crucial would be more on par with the Avid.  So I would try it out the other three.
