I thought it would be interesting to collect some information on everyones biggest fish and see if there are any trends/similarities. Also it's fun to tell people a little about your biggest fish. 

 

Here's what I was thinking, but feel free to add additional details if wanted.

Structure/Cover- N/A

State- Florida / 2009


 


Water Depth- 2-3 feet


 


Lure/Technique- 3/8 Strike King Swimming Jig / Green, brown with a standard size Zoom Brush Hog in Bullfrog as a trailer.


 


Structure/Cover- Directly at a drainage outlet into a lake. Small pocket at the base of the outlet next to bushes/sticks/trees.


 


Weight and/or girth- 11.3 lbs / 28' length, 18' girth


 


GPS image... If you were wondering in the photos how I was standing on water, I was standing on the shallow sand bar.

I had a feeling about this spot and I kept getting these little tiny nibbles. I casted at this fish for 20 min and finally hooked up. Was caught right before sun down in mid summer.

Depth-2 ft

Technique-Pitching a brush hog

Light rain, light wind, pre spawn.
Hair jig w/pork trailer in about 17' on a secondary point.
28.5" long, 28" girth
19.3 lbs.

Lake: ............ one of the long skinny ones around here. :whistle:

 

Date/time : sometime in August of last year, sometime in the evening between 5:30- dark

 

Weather:..............it was a nice summer night.

 

Depth: ............ less than 30' feet :whistle:

 

Cover:.............I don't remember :whistle:

 

Bait: ........................I can't recall :whistle:

 

Length/girth...............I don't know...........really.

 

Weight: 6lbs 10 oz. on my handheld, 6.68lbs on the tournament scale.

 

Won us lunker, and was the kicker in our bag in a 3 fish limit/3 hour evening tournament that we won with 13 + pounds.

Lure/Technique-8" watermelon Zoom Lizard T-rigged/along a deep tree line, chased the bait to the boat when I reeled it in and then ate it when I dropped it back in the water.

Lure/Technique - Cast out a 5/8 jitterbug and just let it set there.  When I twitched it the bass boiled on it.

Lure/Technique- 4.25 soonerrun biffle bug on a hard head football jig. 

 

Structure/Cover- Caught over a sycamore tree that fell over in the water rock bottom.

 

Weight and/or Length- 25"  11 lbs 2oz

Emigrant Lake, SW Oregon

 

Not sure of the depth but probably about 12 feet.

 

I was jiggeling a half oz jig through a 20x20 patch of surface slop. She took it about 6" down.

15ft deep

Rip rap point with steep drop

Zoom Brush Hog (full size) texas rigged on a 5/0 EWG with 1oz weight

bouncing lure down the point, lift and drop

8.8 lbs Largemouth

It was 7:30pm, it was HOT, Dominion Power was pushing water and the current was heavy.

I do not have a digital copy of the photo only hard copy that i will attempt to scan in
