ive been reeling in dinks or getting skunked for the past few months and finally my luck has turned. ive been seeing bass swimming in pairs in the shallows the past few outings and ive finally got one to take my bait.

i saw this pair swimming my way right along the bank and waited for them to come within comfortable pitching distance. with a bit of coaching and patience, this one smashed my fluke jr just as it fluttered down in front of its face then the fight was on! i had forgot how it felt to have a good size fish on the end of my line. and it felt even better on my new 7' ML/F 2 piece crucial. i still have my 1000f saros with 15# powerpro on there untill i get something different.

there was an older couple on the opposite side of the lake in their backyard who watched the whole thing. after this fish, i noticed they positioned their chairs so they could watch me fish for the rest of the time i was there. i managed 6 fish total within 1.5 hours that day but only got a picture of this one. the picture does not do it justice...

got out again today for about 15 mins with the walmart special 6'6" vendetta and a revo s spooled with 30# sufix braid and 10# cxx leader and managed one smaller bass around 1-2lbs. pretty sweet rod for the price. definitely closer to a MH than a M. was planning on staying out longer but the rain and lightning made me leave. of course, a couple hours after i got home its bright and sunny with a light breeze outside. hoping the weather with cooperate better tomorrow.

Cool that the couple took the time to watch you fish. The catching just added to their enjoyment... and yours, wtg  ;)
